What's In and What's Out of Health Care Legislation

Those who believe our Crisis has passed need to study the past
James Quinn

"An Awakening arrives with a dramatic challenge against the High's assumptions about benevolent reason and congenial institutions. The outer world now feels trivial compared to the inner world. New spiritual agendas and social ideals burst forth, along with utopian experiments seeking to reconcile total fellowship with total autonomy. The prosperity and security of a High are overtly disdained though covertly taken for granted. A society searches for soul over science, meanings over things. Youth-fired attacks break out against the established institutional order. As these attacks take their toll, society has difficulty coalescing around common goals. People stop believing that social progress requires social discipline. Any public effort that requires collective discipline encounters withering controversy. Wars are awkwardly fought and badly remembered afterward."

Enslavement by a New Copenhagen Protocol to the Climate Change Treaty
Henry Lamb

Copenhagen is about to become the successor to Kyoto as the synonym for the U.N.'s plan to control climate change. The 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change will meet in Copenhagen December 7-18. Until this meeting ends, expect to hear a growing number of climate-related horror stories, presented by a wide array of so-called environmentalists, at a rising decibel level that's sure to drive the sane quite mad.

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad complains about Israel's offer to the Palestinians. "By all indications they have a Mickey Mouse state in mind," Fayyad said, using the Disney character's name as slang for unimportant or trivial. "It looks like it would not come close to what we have in mind."

You Might Be A Constitutionalist If . . .
Chuck Baldwin

I originally published this column back in January of 2005. Since then (and especially lately), many people have called and written with requests to republish it. So, with a few minor revisions, here it is.
More than thirty years as a student of American history, constitutional government, and the Holy Bible leads me to the conviction that the two major political parties in this country (at the national level) are equally culpable in stripping America of its founding principles. In my opinion, both the Democrat and Republican parties in Washington, D.C., have zero fidelity to the U.S. Constitution and zero respect for America's foundational precepts.

Where is the outrage? Why aren't good Americans by the millions bitterly protesting a Florida judge who has ruled that former Muslim Rifqa Bary, age 17, must return to Ohio? Her parents reside there, and when she lived with them, she became aware that they could kill her for her conversion to Christianity. They would be perpetrating an "honor killing," something common under Sharia Law.

The Window of Opportunity is Now Closed and Locked Down: Passing Goldstone Resolution Marks End of Peace Process Era
Barry Rubin

It means the first make or break test for Obama's foreign policy. There is no easy way out. The president must either block a disastrous UN resolution through effective diplomacy in the UN corridors, accept a bad resolution in order to avoid a confrontation, or veto such a resolution an accept the price in unpopularity. Oh, and it also marks the end of the peace process era that began in 1993, showing both sides why they don't want a compromise deal.

Snowe, Let's Be Honest

Bipartisanship! cried Democrats when Republican Senator Olympia Snowe cast her vote for Obamacare. At least symbolically, Democrats had achieved their goal of Republican support. But, details of the bill aside, I have to question if this vote was really bi-partisan. More to the point, I have to question if Olympia Snowe is really a Republican.

Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, used his company's annual meeting on October 16 to announce the firing of Fox News contributor and O'Reilly Factor regular Marc Lamont Hill. This is the left-wing cop-killer apologist that we have written about for weeks. We called him the Van Jones of Fox News Channel. We said Fox News was as bad as Obama on the matter of background checks for their employees.

"Of course I dislike the Nazis. But who is to say they're morally wrong?" The shocking statement was made by a college student in New York, as documented by author Kerby Anderson in a much-needed book, "Christian Ethics in Plain Language". The professor of the class, Anderson reports, "....said that he has never met a student who denied the Holocaust happened. But he also reported that 10 to 20 percent of his students cannot bring themselves to say that killing millions of people is wrong."

Did you know that the Priests of Ba'al Coalition has weighed in on the health care debate?
Okay, they don't really call themselves that. Ba'al was the god of ancient pagan tribes that sacrificed babies in fertility rites and whom the children of Israel defeated to advance Western civilization at its founding. But the aforementioned group does refer to themselves as "clergy" and "religious professionals" who demand abortion on demand, in a quite demanding way.

The Dollar Losing Reserve Status
Chuck Missler

It is no secret that the US dollar has been struggling. In fact, during the past three months, banks have been putting 63 percent of their new cash into yen and euro, and only 37 percent into the dollar. This new trend away from the dollar as a reserve currency is no surprise considering current rock bottom interest rates coupled with the mountains of cash the Federal Reserve has been printing. A mere 62 percent of the currency reserve at central banks are in dollars right now, and that does not bode well for American prosperity.

Do you feel it? It's everywhere. On television. In the newspaper. At any public gathering. In any discussion – even among friends. It's a feeling of mistrust. Nervousness. Suspicion. Even rage. Mostly, it's just under the surface. But more and more it's bubbling to the top. Political debate is breaking into outright war. Just say the words, "I don't believe government should do that…" and the war is on. Take a side. Feel the heat. Tolerance is a thing of the past.

I am writing as a concerned follower of Jesus Christ, who cares about pre-born babies, and for the souls of the lost. Mr. Roeder, a jury will decide if you are guilty of murder, for that is what you stand accused of. Whether you are a Christian remains to be seen (a Jesus fish was found on your car) and your church affiliation, if any, has not been made public at the time of my writing.

At the risk of offending all the sensitive pastors and young evangelicals who are so anxious not to be the "Religious Right," I would like to propose that it is time they do something worthy of persecution. OK, this is just too easy. You have to ask: Did the Norwegian Nobel Committee devise a secret plot to completely marginalize President Obama in the international community (I mean, beyond that which he's already managed on his own)? Seriously, by awarding him the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday – based solely on his first twelve days in office – they've teed-up the ball for every Obama critic, late-night comedian and 6th grade class clown across the fruited plain. It's been a rhetorical homerun derby. Even the majority of his supporters – apart from his worshipful media sycophants and Daily Kos-types – are left scratching their heads

Repent!
Stephen Kovaka

Our federal government has been using our money (at first), and our credit (now that we are broke) for decades to make good the losses of banks that they deem Too Big To Fail. These episodes are like Jane Austin novels: each one has its own unique twists, but the plot is always a variation on the same theme. (See The Creature from Jekyll Island for details.) The banks make big bets on sure things. When all goes well, the banks make big bucks, and the top dogs make big bonuses. Then we hear a lot about free markets and how government should not interfere with successful businesses. But when things go wrong, we are always told about the dire consequences to us all if any of these banks are allowed to fail. Therefore, our government will save us from this fate by rescuing the banks from their own greed and folly, at OUR expense.

BOILED ALIVE
Clyde F. Autio

Before I even start to write I can hear some of you saying, oh no, not him again? And with that, some of you will just send your cursor up to delete and that will be the end of it. I am sorry, because maybe you are shooting the messenger instead of the message. I know, most of us have heard about the process one must follow to successfully boil a frog. For those who have not heard I will repeat. You place the frog into a pan of room temperature water. Then, you very slowly increase the heat so that the water temperature very gradually increases until it reaches the boiling point. Presto, you have a boiled frog. But, if you make the poor choice of either trying to throw the frog into the boiling water or raise the temperature too quickly the frog will alertly sense the heat and jump out. Is God permitting the former process to be present in today's United States? At this time I am more interested in the adage of the frog boiling than I am in proving the fact scientifically.

In the case under discussion, Mixon opened fire on Oakland police officers after being pulled over for a traffic violation, killing two officers execution-style.
Marc Lamont Hill, the far-left hip-hop professor and paid Fox News Channel analyst, has a record in support of cop-killers. And now we have learned that he went on "The O'Reilly Factor" to defend black militants who held a March vigil in honor of Lovelle Mixon, a suspected rapist with a lengthy criminal record, who murdered four Oakland police officers. Hill said on Fox News that the activists, many of them from a communist organization, were protesting "police terrorism."

Christian Music? Not So Much

The Christian music industry offers a wide variety of music to consumers. Gospel, worship and praise, pop and rock, heavy metal, even grunge. You probably don't sit around thinking about this, but much of today's so-called Christian music has become secularized. Not all, but some of it is completely absent of spiritual truth.
