Supply and demand

Socialism presupposes that a central governmental authority can micro manage the economic needs of society. History has shown such an economic system to be an inefficient failure every time it has been instituted. The most efficient economic system is one where the demands of society are seen and filled by private individuals who are able to move in and out of a particular business to meet demand or lack of it. A natural competition is established in this process which maintains more honest prices for goods and services, rather than socialism which arbitrarily tries to set prices and wages. However, there is a place for government authority to enforce honesty in trade contracts, and to keep monopoly capitalism from the society. There is also a place for governments to bear certain "public" costs that otherwise would not be borne by private individuals. George Cancilla
