Excellent examples of personal, relational "trust" that I will add to my own. I have used the "brakes" example for many years. We grow up watching our parents move a foot over, push a certain pedal, and the car somehow stops. After we become comfortable with our own driving skills it becomes reflexive. We don't even think about what's going on, yet we exercise "faith", we trust that the **material** components have been correctly designed by who knows who, that they are not sub-standard **materials**, that they are not now worn or fatigued to a point of failure, and that our car will likewise stop and not fly off a cliff or into the middle of a busy cross-street with fatal consequences. We do not have Superman's X-ray vision to see into all of these **things** yet we exercise "faith"! We "trust" our very lives to countless unseen **material** components every second of our daily lives! I also exercise faith, but not reflexive, unconsciously. I **choose** to trust in a Living God, the Creator of this material world, who has written in His Word that He is able to preserve my life either by a miracle of timing or better yet, by bringing me home into His presence.
