That is all well and good, but there ARE professionals whom we pay to regergitate the same ole platatudes week after week while the pew potatoes sit quietly waiting for the clock to tell us to leave. The modern "church" assembly will only allow very limited expression to a select few under their terms. I will not enter an assembly run by men, and they are ALL run by men. The first century assemblies were finnished before the end of the first generation, read the report card Jesus gives them in the first 4 chapters of Revelation. What makes us think that an assembly that has been in existence for one, two or three hundred years isn't totally running of traditions and void of the Holy Spirit.

- You Have No Choice IF You Are a Christian
| Posted On: 04/11/09 10:27:32 AM | | Age 41, NH | You have no choice as to whether to attend a gathering of saints to be taught and equipped for the ministry (life). We are commanded to not abandon the gathering together. To not do so is just as much a sin as to not equip the saints at all.
His church has always been run by men under His command - always. And it is supposed to be that way and that is why He gave a church governmental form to be filled with Godly men (and women if one believes in deaconesses which is a debatable point). Your job and mine is to be equipped, make life ministry and if the Lord leads, the elders agree and a man desires to become an elder to help lead His flock.
Share Jesus and His love daily with the people you are around, disciple people as you go, gather together often to be fed and to be equipped and you are leading the life expected by the King.
It would seem a safe bet that doing these things above will not get you in trouble with your local body leaders.
Grace and Peace,

With a proper understanding of the polity of the earlier church we can once again be where God wants us. Click here to reply to this post
- When in Rome, build a Trojan horse!
| Posted On: 04/09/09 08:48:41 AM | | Age 56, LA | I agree with you totally about the assembly which has been set up by man, and perpetuated by man's strategies. A tower of Babel has been built, and it is one of the best schemes of the enemy to keep those who call themselves His, behind closed doors and ineffective to the spreading of the Gospel. How, though, do we on the outside share Jesus who already know we are ministers of the Gospel? Usually alone and rejected, like Jesus, without the support, and certainly not the approval of the institutional people. In fact, with all that is coming down the line in America, it will be those very same people who will, with the new world order, kill us "dissidents" and think they've done God a favor.
