Babylon IS already rebuilt
Posted On: 03/21/09 05:31:20 PM Age 21, CANADA
Babylon the city was destroyed, but the spirit and being of Babylon lives on inside each and every one of us. Look at our corrupt culture, look at the greed, gluttony, the exploitation, the slaves, the exploitation of the Earth and all creatures, the patriarchal rule that exploits women... Truly we are living in Babylon. The lifestyle of Mesopotamia was adopted by the Greeks and Romans, who later conquered Europe and Britain, who then spread their capitalist colonial devastation onto North + South America and the rest of the world. New Babylon, some call it. This is the Babylon that will be destroyed, never to rise again. We are living in that evil world that Satan has a firm grip on. But we must have hope in ourselves and in God that God will give us the strength to reject our ways of life, and destroy the New Babylon that all of us are so very strongly attached to.

  1. Babylon "the great"?
    Posted On: 09/13/09 05:37:21 PMAge 22, CA
Obama/Hussein, all going against a bible prophecy...How does the bible contradict itself? IT DOESN'T!!! on one side you have God himself cursing the land of ancient Babylon and saying that it will never be inhabited, and on the other side talks about a "Babylon the great" which will be powerful in the last days...Acting as a Harlot Making Politically involved, Economically wealthy, and Teaching False Teachings. Its obvious its talking about two different Babylons one which is symbolic, the other one is in our history books...I mean are we going to take all the words in Apocalypse/Revelation, literally? then I wonder who the king of the North is...I dont think Obama, or any person in the presidency or in any government OR even the Ministers they consulted before giving out cash for this cause, read the scriptures.

  2. PATRIARCHAL RULE IS FROM GOD
    Posted On: 03/24/09 01:14:27 PMAge 65, OH
Dear friend, you are correct that this nation is now Babylon and it falls in a period of "one hour". But you are wrong about "PATRIARCHAL RULE" being from Babylon and exploiting women. Patriarchal rule is from God and not Babylon. Look in the Book in Gen 3:"16 To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and HE WILL RULE OVER YOU." - This is God Almighty who is speaking and this is even more than a command, for it is just stating the way it will be. Every attempt of man or women to escape this prophecy of God will put them under a even worse curse. The patriarchal rule that God put into effect was not for the harm of women but for their good. Eve was the one who was deceived by Satan and Adam was deceived by Eve. It is not rocket science to see that because of this that women should not be the leader or both would fall as they already did. So God put Adam who was not fooled by Satan as the ruler. For if women were the rulers they would be fooled by Satan and then also lead the man astray. Patriarchal rule is not to exploit women but for their own protection. Men are to lay down their lives for their women to protect them, just as The Lord Jesus laid down His life for His church. - It was in the Garden that The Lord Jesus also endorsed "capitalism". For The Lord said, "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. 18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; - Notice that men are to eat from their own toil and not the toil of others. They are to eat by the sweat of their brow and not welfare. So man is to work for his own food and property and not take the food and property of others, THAT IS CAPITALISM. Greed is not capitalism and God never endorses greed, and we are told to help others who get sick or hurt. But God is against socialism also. Once a man works for his own food it is for him and his family not for others who will not work. - Lou Newton

Confused
Posted On: 03/02/09 09:24:51 PM Age 63, PA
I read several places in Jeremiah and Isaiah (ie: Jeremiah 50:39) that Babylon will be no more inhabited forever except for wild animals. Dr. Scofield referes to the three kinds of Babylon: the real, spiritual and political. But where does it indicate it will be rebuilt in the end times? Does it suggest it anywhere?

  1. ISAIAH AND JEREMIAH SPEAK OF THE ORIGINAL BABYLON
    Posted On: 03/12/09 08:30:18 AMAge 65, OH
Dear friend, it is written in proverbs that all wisdom starts with fearing God and if we fear God we will humble ourselves before Him. Your humility before God brings you wisdom. After I had written these posts, the fear came over me, what if I am wrong. So I repented before The Lord Jesus and asked Him to correct me if I was wrong in these posts. I would rather He humiliate me than write lies. I asked Him for mercy and to show me some sign if I had been led by His Holy Spirit or my own flesh. As I lay on my bed later that night and thinking of other things a flash of revelation from the Lord came to me. Jeremiah and Isaiah both write that Babylon will be destroyed and also that it will never be inhabited again. But some say that the first destruction is not the one that God is referring to; but that Babylon will be rebuilt AND THEN it will be destroyed never to be inhabited again. But what does God say WHY Babylon will be destroyed and never rebuilt again. God says Babylon will be destroyed BECAUSE it destroyed Jerusalem and God's Temple without mercy and with too much zeal. Which Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple; The original Babylon that was destroyed and has been uninhabited for 2200 years or the second one that these men claim will be rebuilt. It was the original Babylon that destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple. So the judgment of God from Jeremiah and Isaiah are about the original Babylon and not about some rebuilt Babylon. Babylon has been destroyed by the judgment of God for destroying Jerusalem and God's Temple and it will NEVER BE INHABITED AGAIN FOREVER. Do these men claim that this rebuilt Babylon will destroy Jerusalem and God's temple again, that would seem a really foolish claim. Lou Newton

  2. THE BEAST GIVEN POWER TO CONQUER THE SAINTS
    Posted On: 03/05/09 03:17:45 PMAge 65, OH
Professing Christians who believe that the rapture will take them away BEFORE the great tribulation have been led to this conclusion because it fits their doctrine. Also some others are confused because of the Babylon the Great being mentioned in The Revelation. But This is also in the Revelation about the beast that comes out of the sea of humanity. Rev13: 5The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. 6He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7HE WAS GIVEN POWER TO MAKE WAR AGAINST THE SAINTS AND TO CONQUER THEM. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. - So the saints are still on the earth and the scripture tells us that the beast was given power to conquer them. HOW MANY TYPES OF BABYLON ARE IN THE SCRIPTURES
Posted On: 02/24/09 02:55:13 PM Age 65, OH
How many Babylons are there in the Holy Scriptures. Is there just the city in Iraq or are there three types of Babylon. We can answer this question IF we really want to know the truth and the desire is not to further our agenda. How many types of Jerusalem are in the scriptures. Is there not the natural city in what became to be called Judah. But we also know that the scripture speaks of a heavenly or spiritual Jerusalem or the new Jerusalem. But we who follow the Lord Jesus are also called the temple of the Lord are we not. Where is the temple but in Jerusalem. Is not the body of the Lord Jesus called the City of God, and what is the City of God if not Jerusalem. We are all part of the City of God that is in the whole earth and that city is Jerusalem. There are three Jerusalems. - Does not Paul speak of three heavens. There is the 1st heaven which is our atmosphere. The 2nd heaven in what we call outer space. The 3rd heaven is not in this material world or space-time, but it is spiritual.- How many ways does God appear to us. Is it not three. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. There is only one God but He appears to us three different ways.- Are there not three places referred to as sheol in the scriptures; there is the grave that holds our body, there is the pit that holds the angels that have disobeyed, and there is the lake of fire. Three. - The word create is used in Genesis 1 three places and only three. Are not there three realms of existence. the natural, the soul, and the spiritual. So would not there be three Babylons just as there are three Jerusalems. The is the natural Babylon. the Political (of the soul) Babylon and the spiritual Babylon or Babylon the Great. If one considers this possibility then the scriptures are much easier to understand. Do we men not all have three parts the body, the soul, and the spirit. There is a Babylon for each type of man. Of course we speak of the dark spirit and not the Holy Spirit of Light. Lou Newton

The ruse
Posted On: 02/24/09 02:05:02 AM Age 51, AUSTRALIA
I sense that the anti-american flavour will grow, with more aligning with the muslim mindset of america being the great satan. If this mindset continues, why would the united nations remain in america? Why not move it to somewhere that america has less control over, a country that is being rebuilt, let's say babylon. With the terrorist threat growing in america and iraq becoming more organised, maybe, just maybe. Something to think about.

Babylon
Posted On: 02/19/09 11:58:01 PM Age 55, OH
The Bible says that the fall of Babylon is permanent. Where exactly does it say it's going to be rebuilt--chapter & verse please. I am sincere in wanting to know. What I have read it speaks of what has already happened. When G-d says forever doesn't he mean it? If there is another Babylon (spiritual)could it be that it is anywhere that people have drifted away from G-d's Commandments and seek to please themselves rather than G-d. Molding religion to suit their own desires.

  1. Babylon has not been completely destroyed yet
    Posted On: 02/26/09 03:09:44 PMAge 59, PA
Historically, even though there has been no official city Babylon since it was destroyed, there has always been a presence of nomadic tribes and shepherds in the area. The city was infested with asps making it impossible to go into the city, except in the most frozen winters, but the encampments have always been there. In Is 13:20 it says the city will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; Nor will the Arab pitch his tent there nor will shepherds make their flocks lie down there..this obviously has to be completely fulfilled, but is yet to be future. Isn't it interesting the Lord used these two classes of inhabitants to give us the final outcome? This has yet to be fulfilled. A future Complete destruction awaits this city as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah v. 13:19. Hope this helps.

    1. WHAT IS A CITY
      Posted On: 03/03/09 10:02:46 PMAge 65, OH
The city of Babylon in what now is Iraq had a population of about 200,000 people and its walls were reported by some historians to be 42 miles around. The hanging gardens in it were considered one of the wonders of the world. It seems to me that anyone who would go there and look at the complete ruins of that city is simply kidding themselves that it was not destroyed. The nomads camp out all over the land. Would you call any place where they set up camp a city. Babylon has been lying in ruins for 2200 years. Lou Newton

US to help rebuild City of Babylon in Iraq.
Posted On: 02/19/09 08:44:16 PM Age 58, IL
Saddam Hussein was rebuilding Iraq, and now the US has taken over. We are definitely seeing prophecy come true, and Babylon is frequently mentioned throughout the Bible and will be spoken of even more as we progress toward the Millenium.

well it's about time, it is getting closer, for ALL the Judas's are coming out of the woodwork. and Jesus would lean over the table and say, to them; "what you have to do, do it quickly, for your time is short." Come on Christians this is what the Bible is talking about, we are in Revalation, and the Lords plan is at hand, look up and rejoice, for your redemption is nigh! be a witness to those whom are not in the Lord, that is our Job, and not to hide and worry, but to rejoice in the Lord, this build up of antichrist is the beginning of his demise, when he appears, it is his down fall, not his rise? it is called Jacob's trouble, and we win. Rraise the Lord Jesus Christ.

US to help rebuild City of Babylon in Iraq.
Posted On: 02/19/09 01:49:54 PM Age 58, IL
I am fascinated by this ancient city, and indeed Sadam Hussein was rebuilding Babylon, and now it is under construction by the US to rebuild. Man started his rebelion against God here, and it will end there when God comes to destroy the city once and for all. My bible class is studying Daniel, which opens in the year 602 BC in Babylon, the time when Nebuchadnezzar was the monarch, and Daniel told him of the rise and fall of 4 empires, the head of gold, (Babylon,) the chest and arms of silver,( Medo-persian empire,) Belly and thighs of Bronze,( Greece,) and the legs and feet of Iron and clay, the beast (anti-christ.) Iraq is now the center of the world stage, as well as the middle east and Israel. Once again Babylon is the center stage for Oil, and great evil. Watch Jerusalem (The holy City,) Iraq, and the rise of the European Union, all setting the stage for the Anti-Christ. It is not far away. Deborah

  1. THE STATUE IS STRUCK ON THE FEET AND NOT THE HEAD
    Posted On: 02/24/09 12:22:18 PMAge 65, OH
Is not the answer to this question in the dream in Daniel. God sent the dream and then told Daniel the meaning of the dream. Nebuchadnezzar was the head of gold ( Babylon), the arms of silver were the Persians and the Medes, the bronze chest and belly was Greece and the legs of iron and feet partly of iron and partly of clay were Rome. But what does the Lord say after this. Daniel 2:34 While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its FEET OF IRON AND CLAY and smashed them. 35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.- The Rock ( which is Jesus) does not strike the statue on the head ( Babylon) but the Rock strikes the statue on the feet ( Rome). It seems Babylon will not be rebuilt, for it is not the Empire that Jesus strikes. When the Rock strikes the statue and the wind ( the Holy Spirit blows all the dust of the statue away) the Rock then fills the whole earth) The Rock will rule this whole earth. Praise His Holy Name. Is Babylon, Rome or the seat of Western power the US?
Posted On: 02/19/09 06:31:33 AM Age 46, GA
Revelation 17:9's mention of seven mountains makes one feel that the Babylon that John is invisioning is Rome; but, is this speaking of Rome itself or of a nation like unto Rome? What is the picture on an American Express Traveler's check? Is the United States the new Rome, or perhaps the new Babylon? The description of the riches of the Babylon of Revelation certainly fits that of the United States, today.
