- TRUST IS JESUS NOT WARREN
| Posted On: 01/24/09 11:17:07 AM | | Age 65, OH | You say, "when so many of us belive in his love for our Lord & Savior". I do not even trust in my own love for the Lord Jesus let alone Warren's. I know who I am and I am not trustworthy. That is why I trust in The Lord Jesus to save me and not my love for The Lord Jesus to save me. You can trust in Warren if you so choose, but I will trust in the One and Only who is worthy of trust, The Lord Jesus Christ. Lou Newton Click here to reply to this post

Nothing Wrong with Warren's statement

Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment." John 7:24 NIV
But it is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another. Psalm 75:7
11 He who loves purity of heart And has grace on his lips, The king will be his friend. Proverbs 22:11
Did Rick Warren make this statement out of the blue, or not? But if not, there is still nothing wrong with his statement. It is more likely he was bombarded for an answer by the same media and gay rights groups that have been harassing him since his stance on gays/gay marriage was made loud and clear to the public and everyone else who wanted to know. These wicked groups win, especially when Christians start casting quick judgement on Warren's answer. The article suggesting that Warren is "Universal," is inaccurate and demeaning.
If a Christian is called to speak at a public forum, he should do so while cowering to no one, fearing no man and God alone. Warren is doing this and is not being a politician! If Christians were to stay home whenever their is some wickedness in an arena and therefore refuse to assist, we could then do no good. This wasn't Jesus' plan for Christians, that our love for each other be the greatest example to the world. Warren is not being used by the fruits of darkness, if anything he will use the situation for good, and if nothing else to show his love. Also it's important to understand that Warren has already exposed the Bishop.
"...judge your neighbor fairly. " 'Do not go about spreading slander among your people.
" 'Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor's life. I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19: 15,16
The Bible speaks that we are not to be quick to judge God's servants and his leaders. The Almighty will judge Christian leaders, not incorrect Christian journalists to judge Christian leaders. The Bible says that you will know who they are by their deeds, words, actions. Best to do a deep study of Rick Warren before you write an article about him and quote God's holy word with it!
So does Warren unintentionally ostracize certain Christian people, or use this moment to reach millions of unbelievers? If any of us are ever about to have the biggest audience on earth to demonstrate what a Christian is, and have spoken to Rick Warren then maybe we can speak up. Rick Warren has made it clear to the entire world his stance on gays and that the Bible and God is his sole authority.
Now let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Judge carefully, for with the LORD our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery." 2 Chronicles 19:7
Warren spoke up about Gays on Dateline very recently! He spoke clearly on how it was wrong and skillfully in the face of evil opposition. If he comes out now to expose gay bishop now, it will be all about him in a bad way. I think John the Baptist also considered when to expose, had he exposed already, and would doing it more at the wrong time be pearls to a pig and beating a dead horse, thereby harming his message. He did speak up on Dateline, a nationally syndicated, heavily watched episode by millions. He may speak up more, but he has already spoken up, and then skillfully prevented himself from being dragged in the mud even more. As a godly speaker at a presidential inauguration, condemning gays yet again, days before when they tried to entice you to do so would be getting in the mud with them. At this last minute he didn't give them what they wanted to hear, one last time to spit hate in his face before the inauguration, good! He was guided by discretion!

- Rev Warren
| Posted On: 01/22/09 01:04:16 AM | | Age 42, KS | I'm grateful for the truth of who was praying the prayer at the Presidents occasion. The Bible warns as very clearly regarding wolf's among the sheep; and in these times that we are living in lately all truth that is written in the Bible man come and turn it into a lie to suit there own desires. This is very dangerous!!!
That's why Jesus Christ the Risen One and Only one has given us the Prescious Holy Spirit to reveal it all to us as Holy Believers, Born Again and filled with the Holy Spirit.
We are absolutely in the end times. To declare right was is actually wrong, wrong, wrong, this is the warning to us as True Believers to wake up and not to sleep, and not to follow man but God, to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and to obey only His Voice and to submit to the Written Word of God!!

- Lets not judge... but here's something to think about.
| Posted On: 01/20/09 10:23:00 PM | | Age 53, AZ | What you have said is very compelling and it seems that you have a very strong grasp of the bible. Can you show me in the bible where the blood of murdered babies for generations cried out from the earth, while the High Priest of the land asked for the blessing of Jehova upon the newly crowned King, this prayer taking place during the Kings coronation. The new King knew of the slaughter of the babies and condoned the killing. The King had promised while still in the Senate that after he was made King he would remove all hinderances and laws that once rendered a small amout of protection to the innocent about to be slaughtered? He said, as King he would give gold in support of the many many temples where the murder of the innocent would take place. As King he would also give gold to the priests of the temples of slaughter... where the Priests would teach and bless those who sought the murder their babies. The Priests teaching and blessing would keep the mother and father from sickness, feeling pain, remorse or guilt. This King also asked for the prayer and blessing of the most powerful sodomite High Priest in the land and also the prayer and blessing from a High Priest of another foriegn land. The new King also wanted to protect the sodomite Priest and his sodomite followers from any slander having to do with their abominations. Can you find this story in the bible? What was the name of the High Priest who asked for Jehova's blessing? What was the name of the sodomite Priest? What was the name of the King? Do you think that the blood of the slaughtered babies still cries out? Does the bible tell about other stories where innocent babies were slain? Did God bless the Kings who ordered the slaughter of innocent babies in the other stories? Did God hear the prayer of the High Priests who asked for His blessing of these Kings? Did God ever say anything about these Priests... about what He thought of them? What do you think? Purvis Click here to reply to this post

- You are missing the point bud
| Posted On: 01/22/09 05:56:09 AM | | Age 38, SC | Got your comment-thanks. However, It seems you already know all these answers you have asked me. Of course, God won't answer prayers of people whom are vile. The Bible says their prayers are an abomination. This is not the point of the above posting. I believe you are missing the point, my friend. I suggest you do a study of Kings through out the entire Bible and see how we are to act towards them, check out everything about King's from the wisest King in the world in Proverbs-especially. As Christians I think we should memorize Proverbs and Eccl. as well as many other parts of the Bible. Write out the entire book on notecards, this I'm doing. While you may not memorize it all, you can memorize the main Point of the verses. If you would like the entire article I wrote from the posting about not judging warren. It is so very sad to see what has happened in this world when it comes to the true faith of Jesus Christ. The only bright spot in what is happening is that He is coming back very soon. It's heartbreaking to see so many turn their backs on Him and His Word that supposedy follow and love Him. Welcome to the church at Laodicia.

Who is Warren trying to please?

Steve, I think you are right on target. Good job brother!
You might not remember me but we attended Wheaton Bible Church together. This was around 1977-1978 or so. You were a young, unknown musician at the time.
I agree with the previous blog to the extent that we do need to be careful about judging. However, I get the sense that Rick Warren wants to please men and God. If I could speak to him, I would ask him how he views his actions and comments up against Galatians 1:10.

I don't see how you said the BO bama caved to pressure when he asked the gay bishop to pray. Doesn't his history prove that he lives on the left and panders to the right? If so, then he was caving to pressure to be centrist when he invited Warren to the ball. I think the pretense of being centrist will not last much past when Warren says "amen." The next four years will be a bumpy ride and we only have ourselves to blame. John

Where is Rev. Warren going with this?

I would advise Christians to be cautious in their judgment or endorsement of Rick Warren. Think of Billy Graham and the influence he has had on at least 7 presidencies by staying nonpartisan. Pastor Warren realizes that America is a nation of religious freedom, not a Christian nation per se. While Christianity has enjoyed more widespread influence in the past, there have always been Americans for and against Chistianity. And Rick Warren shows his knowledge of the first rule of salesmanship: IF YOU WANT TO SAVE THE SALE, KEEP IT POSITIVE.
Barack Obama wants to make America both good and great as he understands goodness and greatness. And he is acting in ways that are consistent with his manifest desire to get all factions to work together. While I don't criticize his motives, I know that his goals cannot succeed in getting all sides to agree on an acceptable future for America. True Christians cannot abandon their beliefs just to walk hand-in-hand with the tolerant groupd that hate them.
But to the extent that Rick Warren, looking to show biblical honor for his "king," tries to craft a genuine compliment, giving Obama credit for trying, I don't exactly disagree with him. I don't read explicit endorsement of Obama's presidency, morals or agenda; merely Warren's embrace of the chance to hold out the true light of the gospel in dark times (which God allowed), similar to the Godly prophets of Bible times who stayed true and available during the administrations of evil kings (such as Michaiah during the reign of King Ahab).
However, Warren needs to be very careful of "sounding an unclear note" (see 1 Corinthians 14:8), because his statement could leave some wondering if he has sold out to political correctness.

- Mixing His ways with ours.
| Posted On: 01/16/09 11:42:25 AM | | Age 56, LA | "If you want to make the sale, keep it positive?" Is that really a principle of God's heart, or a guiding business "wisdom" of this world? The Word says "the cross is an offense to those who are perishing." There is a fine line in being respectful to the soul's that we proclaim the truth of the Gospel to, and in blurring the truth so that they won't be offended. If we do this, they may be "saved" and never really understand what they've been saved from, and, in actuality, not really be born-again. Then, there is the point of forsaking the Lord Himself by camoflauging Him, and not being true to Him first because we chose to appeal to men. At the best it encourages "itching ear" doctrine, and at the least brings deception, bringing fatalistic eternal consequences. We need the fear of the Lord to come to this country. Especially in the hearts of those who call themselves His. Help us Lord know You and submit ourselves to Your will only, and not to justify our actions. Give us courage to do what you would have us do, and say what you would have us say, no matter the consequences, knowing that You are our good Shepherd and that You love us. - gay bishop's prayers are not heard
| Posted On: 01/16/09 06:21:20 AM | | Age 51, SC | God does not answer prayers of unrepentant homosexuals. Scripture even goes so far to say that unrepentant homosexuals will not enter the kingdom of God. To allow or to affirm the choice of this man to lead in prayer is an insult to Almighty God and to Scripture. Click here to reply to this post
