Easy Question to Answer

What is God's will in YOUR life? You find books dedicated to answering this question yet answering it is very, very simple: Romans 8:29, The will of the Father is that we be conformed to the image of Christ. First things first my fellow brothers in Christ! Was Paul confused about God's will in his life when he attempted to go to Asia? Yes. He was stopped in his tracks. Therefore, it is somewhat difficult to know the will of God in our lives in advance. However, become mature in the spirit and imitate Christ (as we are told to do in Scripture), and you will know that you are in the will of God. At this point in your spiritual walk with Christ, 1) people will come to you for whatever reason God has deemed necessary for them because Jesus said, no one can come to me unless My Father draw them to me --- so, expect to have people come to the Jesus who lives in you. What God wants you to do with them, you will know at that time. As you start looking back at how God has used you, then you will know your calling, and consequently, the will of God in your life. As Paul told Timothy not to allow a novice to hold positions of leadership, this should tell us that we must first be mature before God is willing to use us. Why else would Peter tell us to crave the Word of God like a baby craves milk so that by it we may grow? To be used by God -- of course. Simple? Yes.

MIGHTY POOR BARGAIN

What does it profit a man to own the whole world and lose his own soul for all eternity. All material wealth is only for a very short time. We never really own anything; we only rent it for a very short time. No man can take one small doorknob with him when he dies, let alone a whole house. Would you rent a house for $1000.00 a month, when you have to pay the rent for all eternity and only get to live in it for 50 years. Any man who does not have Jesus, possesses nothing at all. But the man who possesses Christ possesses everything there is to possess and lacks not one thing. The man without Jesus Christ will suffer without Him forever. That man will be left without God and all of His mercy and grace. That man will be left with no mercy, grace, love, truth, joy, and all the things of God that God freely gives to us. That man will be left with deception, hate, no forgiveness, no peace, no joy, and all the things that are against the God that he rejected. A mighty poor bargain indeed. Lou Newton
