Tony Jones does not have a PhD from Princeton [yet]

Dear Marsha,
I'd like to correct a common misconception about Tony that's been getting a lot of play with the publicity about his "coming out" on this issue. Tony Jones has not received a PhD from Princeton Theological Seminary, as he has yet to submit and defend his dissertation. He is a PhD candidate, but he is not a PhD.

Most of these people involved with the so-called emergent "church" are wackos. The reason Jones doesn't mention any scripture in his shallow statement is the emergent church no longer believes that the Bible is the word of God. They have made plenty of statements revealing their beliefs about the Bible. Presently, I don't have time to look up all the resources and quotes, but there are plenty of books and websites around to look them up and see for oneself.
However, they believe that the Bible "contains" the words of God; and contains the words of Jesus; but the entire Bible is NOT the inerrant, infallible, plenarily, verbally inspired Word of God
As a result of this satanic view of the Bible, they cannot point to any Scripture and quote it to support their positions on anything.
Sadly, Ms. West is correct in calling this movement apostate. They also, by the way, deny the necessity of the blood of Christ and the cross as well as the necessity of the atoning work of Christ on the cross for the sins of humanity.
Wackos? O, yea!
