I can vote for McCain Now
Posted On: 09/05/08 11:07:04 AM Age 59, OR
I have been planning to do a write-in. Obama no way. He stands for things that I find offensive to humanity. McCain? I had serious doubts as to his firm commitment to those things I value. He said it, but I just couldn't feel secure about his position. But, in choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate, he has affirmed his solid support for the values I treasure so deeply. With Gov. Palin on the ticket, I am confidently and enthusiastically voting for McCain/Palin.

Voting for Palin
Posted On: 09/05/08 09:18:13 AM Age 51, FL
Not McCain. I was tempted to sit this one out but the pick of Sarah Palin has changed my mind. Hopefully John McCain won't be a disaster and ruin Palin's chance at prez. later on. I believe she is a woman raised up by God for such a time as this.

Sarah's Great but....
Posted On: 09/05/08 12:47:24 AM Age 53, PA
Sarah Palin sounds like a terrific person. However, we still have John McCain running for president, and he does not share all of the views of Ms. Palin. Who will influence who? Will her stand on issues such as abortion make a difference if elected? It's also a concern that Christians eagerly accept a candidate whose words tickle their ears. Words seem to speak louder than actions, as evidenced by our current president, and instead of seriously examining the fruit of a person's life, all they have to do is mention "God" and we're on their bandwagon.

Not voting for a lesser evil....
Posted On: 09/04/08 06:51:05 PM Age 39, VA
Lets be honest folks you don't vote for the VP in an election, you vote for the president... I personally will not be voting for McCain because he is 'the lesser of two evils' which means you still get evil... I will be fearing God more than Obama and I will cast my vote in clear conscience for Chuck Baldwin...

  1. THE LESSOR OF THE EVILS OR WE GET THE GREATOR EVIL

Everyone who has ever voted for a man, and voted with intelligence, has voted for the lessor of evils. All men are evil, and we try to vote for the least evil man that we think has a real chance of winning. Otherwise we end up with the greater of the evils. Lou Newton

So you think that by not voting for the lessor of two evils, we will not get evil? Do the math- we still get evil but by not voting for the lessor- we may get the greater! John

Isn't that the same as voting for Obama who makes McCain look like a saint. Lou

  5. Still Evil
    Posted On: 09/08/08 12:08:39 PMAge 47, TX
Chuck Baldwin doesn't have a chance to win so you will still get evil in the White House and probably NOT the lesser of the two evils. Your vote for Baldwin (is he even on the ticket?) will, in essence, be a vote FOR Obama, the WORST of the two evils. You'd better think good and hard about your decision. (A non-vote is ALSO a vote for Obama.)

not my v.p.
Posted On: 09/04/08 05:41:59 PM Age 56, WI
I'm not falling all over Palin for v.p. If she is so christian then she cannot side with McCain. she talks a good talk and so does Obama. remember she could become president. we all know that when one becomes president of The U.S.A. we find out too late that they have conveniently changed their direction. meaning they lied all along. just do our homework and not get caught up in the moment. take a look at Chuck Baldwin for president.

She is biblically disqualified
Posted On: 09/04/08 05:20:27 PM Age 48, NJ
Look at 1 Timothy 3:1 - 13. This is the template we are to use to select elders of both the church and to lead our country. Does not the events of her life current and from the past disqualify her?

  1. Bishops and Deacons Only
    Posted On: 09/09/08 01:28:36 AMAge 42, TX
The above viewpoint is taking 1 Timothy 3:1 - 13 out of context, completely...But Palin should not leave her family to be VP, anyway. Isaiah 3:9-12, 1 Tim. 5:14, and Titus 2:5 would be better biblical precepts to observe regarding this position of God's Will towards women and His role for them. This is not a chauvinistic stance, and I wish I could profess that my wife stays at home instead of being in the workforce, but it is something that we are striving to attain, soon. When it comes to modern pragmatism or biblical principles, Christians should not abandon the fundamentals of our faith, ever.

  2. I Timothy 3
    Posted On: 09/08/08 12:13:04 PMAge 47, TX
I Timothy 3 does NOT speak to being leader of a country. If it does, please explain. I do, however, think that she should be at home raising her children since she still has children in the home. That is the fact that disqualifies her.

Sarah Palin
Posted On: 09/04/08 04:19:41 PM Age 75, MN
It may be too soon to tell, but it sounds to me like the Alaskan governor is a winner in many, many areas. She's strong enough to back up what she believes with action, and sounds bright enough to be able to identify the issues she needs to address. Granted the VP doesn't have much power, I could feel comfortable with her becoming president if something required it (which I sincerely hope does not come to pass. Given the length of the presidential term, the possibility always exists and needs to be considered as an election comes up. I'm comfortable with this team.

SHE IS A PIT BULL
Posted On: 09/04/08 04:06:17 PM Age 60, AZ
the Democrats don't like someone going after their messiah do they. Every news report on TV said they were stund when she comepared her and Oboma's experence him an organizer and her a Mayor and a Governor. That is a question I have had sence he came on the seen. A senator for one term who has done nothing and has been runing for president sence he was elected. Has no legislation to speek of and has no quilifacation to be President. Hilery took shots at him thats o.k but she is a democrat.

By their fruits...?
Posted On: 09/04/08 02:30:01 PM Age 59, MN
Absolutely "by their fruits." Sarah Palin is definitely known by her fruits. She is Pro-Life...which is what God is all about! Yes, God created the animals too, but He gave us dominion over them. We are the superior being not the animals. When we don't think its wrong to kill unborn babies in the womb, but get upset about how the "poor animals" are being treated we have a major problem!!!! Our Creator has all authority and we are to abide by His rules...so its true, "by your fruits you will be known..." Your are either on God's side or against...

Not according to design
Posted On: 09/04/08 01:14:37 PM Age 46, IA
I am amazed at the absolute lack of concern that Christians are displaying for the possible placing of a woman in VP leadership of the USA, and the quite likely scenario that she will also serve as President in the near future. This is a biblical worldview website, yet the Bible is clearly NOT being consulted on this issue. Feminism has overtaken the minds of America's Christians. We have bought the lie that women can "have it all." Last night Rudy Guiliani said in his RNC speech: "One final point. How dare they question whether Sarah Palin has enough time to spend with her children and be Vice President. How dare they do that! When...when did they ever ask a man that question? When?" God created Eve to be a helper for Adam (Gen. 2:18). Paul uses this as one of the reasons women are not to lead men (1 Timothy 2:12-13). Men are to be leaders, not women (1 Cor. 11:3). Isaiah prophesied that Israel would be cursed by having women & children ruling over them (Isaiah 3:12). I'm sure some will immediately say, "What about Deborah?!" I would rather say, "What did God design?" Did God not design male leadership - in the home, in national Israel, in the church? Do we really believe God will bless us with a woman president? I like what Sarah Palin stands for politically. I enjoyed her speech last night. But there was something terribly wrong with her on that platform and her husband sitting next to McCain's wife, holding their baby son. When Rudy made his "how dare they..." statement above, the CNN camera was pointed right at the Palin's pregnant daughter. I don't know her thoughts, but she looked pretty sad, possibly realizing that her mother, if elected, would probably not have much time for her in this needy point in her life. And she also realized that it was politically incorrect for her to desire that of her mother right now.
