True Revival
Posted On: 09/03/08 09:51:55 AM Age 45, CA
True revival will come when men and women stop being carnal to God's Torah (Romans 8:6-9) and realize that faith grafted us into the commonwealth of Israel. The Torah will go out to the word as they turn towards God's ways and the God of Jacob (Is. 2). We lack foundation for this revivial because we have all but thrown away that Torah which god calls "good doctrine" (Proverbs 4:2), and which Paul directs us to for doctrine, reproof, and instructions in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16-19). Paul is hard to understand, according to Peter, for those not learned (2 Peter 3:16). We must read Paul, through Jewish eyes taught in Torah, to see he never taught putting the Torah away, in fact he said that "faith establishes the Torah" (Romans 3:31). Understand that most Christians develop a foundation on the Apostolic Writings, and some never even read and most never study that which is called "Scriptures" by the NT writers (those writer knew no other Scriptures as no NT was writen). I believe the NT is inspired; but, we must never forget the foundation for "good doctrine" is in the Torah, God said so. It describes God and His character and how God relates to us and how we are to relate to Him and others, and never describes things that were being reported in this false revival.

DUTCH SHEETS "APOLOGY"?
Posted On: 09/02/08 01:54:36 PM Age 46, TX
The honesty and sincerity seems authentic in this brother (this pastor from Lakeland). The Dutch Sheets "apology" concerns me in that he still sees himself as a part of the completely apostate charismatic, "apostolic", and "prophetic" movements. For a commentary on the Dutch Sheets "apology" go here http://www.safeguardyoursoul.com/html/articles.html (scroll down a bit)

Like Jonah, You run
Posted On: 08/31/08 06:39:23 AM Age 57, NJ
I believe that the so-called pastors who didn't want to rock the boat were in error and while they should be teaching, they need teaching. They are to guard the gospel and watch over the flock. They did neither. Since they lost their annointing, they need a reason to still be in the business. I guess writing blogs, crying and other assorted things will keep their sheep defending them. Another issue is the radio, internet and newsletter watchdogs. I am just thinking aloud, but didn't Jonah have a fear his ministry would be wrong, if the people repented. Just think, if the heretics accepted rebuke, repented and turned to the gospel, these watchdogs would have nothing to say in their shows etc. They might have to start teaching the word. 1. JONAH WAS A PROPHET OF GOD
    Posted On: 09/02/08 11:40:17 AMAge 64, OH
You speak the truth about Bentley and ones like him but you slander Jonah. Have you ever preached and 120,000 people repented in dust and ashes and fasting. God called Jonah for this mission out of all the men on the earth and do you think he made a mistake. Jesus said about Himself, "One greater than Jonah is here". Has Jesus ever spoke that way about you or me. Jesus said no other sign would be given except the sign of Jonah. Notice He did not say the sign of me or of you. Jonah preached to a whole boat load of heathens and they did not repent at first. But then when the storm came and the boat was going to sink, Jonah did not blame the heathens but said it was his fault that this storm came and to throw him into the sea. I have never met a man that was that humble or honest, have you. Jonah gave up his life for the heathens in that boat. That is the sign of Jonah, Jesus did the same. While we were still sinners Jesus died for us. Jonah has a book named after him, not me or you. Love says to be quick to defend and slow to accuse. Jonah was not concerned about himself, does not the fact that he gave up his very life for heathens show that. Jonah was concerned for the reputation of God, that some would say that God lied in first saying He was going to destroy the city and then forgive it. And was not Jonah right, for some do say just that. Jonah was a prophet who talked to God face to face and we could use more like him today. Lou Newton

Prayer

I know that everyone has such horrible things to say about Todd Bentley and the revival...I myself do not approve of it either, but how many people are actually PRAYING into this situation??? It seems that everyone is just full of slander and malice. That is not of God either...let us pray for those involved in this because God is able to use all for good.

  1. NOT SLANDER IF TRUE

Dear friend, it is NOT slander if it is true. It is NOT malice if it is not meant for harm but for good. Read what Jesus told the pharisees, some would call it slander and malice but it was not. What Jesus spoke to the pharisees was to warn others not to follow them into hell. Lou

Jan, you really should acknowledge that Hank Hanegraaff, whom you have repeatedly unjustly attacked, was one of the first preachers to expose and delineate the false teachings of Todd Bentley.

That Partial-Preterist... I mean escatological expositionist? Please. Just because he could smell a rat a few hundred miles away in Florida doesn't warrant Jan's humble apology. Hank's wacky in his own right, and I think Jan is correct in continuing to warn her listeners/ readers. Rock on with your criticisms of hokey heresy hunters, Jan! I'll stick with Justin Peters.

Signs and Wonders in Reverse
Posted On: 08/29/08 08:32:23 AM Age 65, OH
Jesus says (not said) that a wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign. It is ironic that those who now say, 'I knew it all along' and who rightly reject the mania that refuses to assign credibility to anything religious unless it is accompanied by 'signs and wonders', themselves refused to denounce this demon-inspired fraud unless they could see some outward 'sign'. The Bible instructs us to "try the spirits". One who is truly filled with the Holy Spirit of God, will recoil in revulsion when demon activity is present. In the area of discernment, the church must file bankruptcy. Not chapter 13, but chapter 7.

Fear of man allows false teachings
Posted On: 08/29/08 06:01:32 AM Age 51, NETHERLANDS
The fear of man bringeth a snare; but whose putteth his trust in the Lord shall be save. Prov. 29:25 KJV False prophets like Todd Bentley and all those supporting him are not to be afraid of. Ignore them and always speak out the truth. I appreciate your article, though I also tell you: beware of Dutch Sheets! He hates the so called 'attack dogs and heresy hunters'. And why is that...? God bless, Joop

Lets get our focus back on Jesus!
Posted On: 08/29/08 03:10:41 AM Age 51, SCOTLAND
I could say amen to every item of feedback on this issue with the exception of that man/woman who says Moses was moving in witchcraft. What I would say to him/her is, “my friend, you are so full of hate. I pray that the Lord of Salvation opens your eyes and lets you see that where there is a counterfeit, there MUST be an original! Wise up and repent while there is still time, Christ will welcome you with open arms; it is absolutely not too late! Lord, I pray for this person, there is something in them that has led them to seek, how else can he/she know about someone like Smith Wigglesworth? Lord let him/her see that Your forgiveness’ is waiting to be grasped!” Amen Come on brothers and sisters; let’s leave poor Todd to the Lord. I was shouting about this as soon as I saw what was happening, the deceived are just that, “deceived!” The gospel of Jesus Christ is FOOLISHNESS to those who are perishing! Yes we must be faithful watchmen, but once we have seen and shouted, let the lost remain lost and pray that those who are being saved will be turned away from error. It’s time for us to stop bemoaning what has happened and get on with the job of watchmen. Christ is coming very soon and He said this kind of thing would happen, rejoice, you are seeing Christ’s word confirmed! Let’s get on with healing the sick, casting out demons and preaching THE GOSPEL! Let’s go Church!! Gordon McGill: Scottish Warrior Ministries, Falkirk, Land of the Covenanter's

SEEK THE GIVER AND NOT THE GIFTS
Posted On: 08/28/08 08:50:39 PM Age 64, OH
If you are speaking out now to confess your sin and not save whatever face you can, then you are to be admired for it. But I think you were very wrong in not speaking out in the first place. I was never there and just the little bit I seen on videos told me this was a circus and not of God. Responsibility goes with authority. I was born in a charismatic church and I believe in all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. But most of the times I have seen ie tonques it has been of the flesh. Almost all the times I have seen being slain in the Spirit it was not of the Lord. Most of the healing on TV is for the glory of men and not God. The gifts are all real and are given today but most of the times God has healed someone through me, it has been fairly private. I got no glory for the person did not even know my name. One could argue the more public the display of the gift, the more it is men seeking the gift and not seeking the Giver. One way is life itself and the other is sin. Lou

Sad and sorry condition of God's people
Posted On: 08/28/08 03:48:12 PM Age 56, ID
Pastor I'm sorry you are feeling badly about this. I and many others started standing against this when it first started. I'm very happy to see it's demise, and yet very sorry to see what happened to Todd's marriage. When the watchmen fail to sound the alarm the carnage left behind is awful. This was a terrible reproach of God's solemn assemly. As Paul said all things within the assembly are to be done in decency and good order,I would include the worship of the Lord in that. The people I feel the worst for are our evangelist who the world laughs at now having seen this circus. A very tough job has gotten even tougher.May God raise up his Holy remnant to watch over his sheep and be alert watchmen,in Jesus name I pray, Amen

  1. I don't feel sorry
    Posted On: 08/30/08 06:42:05 AMAge 57, NJ
I don't feel sorry for our true evangelists as they are in fellowship with the Lord and are proclaiming His gospel. I feel bad for everyone not in that relationship. Why should we care what the world thinks. They have a reprobate mind. What we care about is the world's relationship to God and our God inspired love to a decaying world. Our brother Peter tells us in 1 Peter 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. I want what is acceptable to God. These so-called pastors whining about not speaking up until after the fact need to be buffeted. Their salt has lost their savour (luke 14:34). Todd Bentley gives us a wonderful opportunity to share that all need the Lord. It is the power of the Gospel in every circumstance that wins people and not the promotion of sin. So a Godly evangelist who preaches the word of God is enpowered above everything. Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? I know must sinners are looking at excuses to defend their love of darkness. Jon 3:19 -21 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. But darkness is exposed by the Light. Bentley was exposed as well as the two crying pastors. I pray that they wake up, quit trying to please man and seek the Lord not status in the church. Gal. 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. I wonder if the crying after the fact was grand standing to get even more attention. Paul told us Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. Rom 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Rom 16:19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. Rom 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. offer them Christ
