Preservation of Scripture

It is not so ludicrous to imagine the Bible being banned in America. It has been banned in other countries in contemporary times. Satan has been attacking it on many fronts, most fiercely, in just the last couple of decades. But God has chosen to preserve His Word despite many onslaughts for thousands of years. In Old Testament history, the prophet Jeremiah had dictated the Word of God to Baruch, who wrote it on a roll. The roll was presented to King Jehoiakim who after hearing it read to him, cut it up with a knife and threw it into a fire. But Jeremiah gave the words again to Baruch. Jeremiah was shortly thereafter imprisoned, but Jehoiakim and his servants were punished and their land destroyed. (See Jeremiah chapter 36). These prophecies were historically fulfilled, but that does not mean that still may have application today. It is not a hate crime to warn someone of their iniquity. It is a form of love for their eternal souls. George Cancilla
