1ST - Jesus said "the poor will always be with us and you can help them whenever you want". But to force me to pay a tax to help the poor takes away my opportunity to help the poor in love. There is no profit (or good) unless it is done in love (1 Cor 13). 2ND - If all nations decide to pay this tax it will NOT make poverty less one bit. The money will go to corrupt UN officials and then to the corrupt officials of the poor countries. Very little will filter down to the poor, just enough to say that they helped the poor. Obama has shown where his loyalties lie and it is NOT with the white people of the US but the black people of Africa. Read Obama's own book, where he says in his own words:

One world government, ready or not

The efforts to institute a one world government have been in place before the U.N. was established. The people who sit at the head of these efforts are an elite cabal of bankers and other wealthy executives whose first priority was to gain control of the world's financial system. From here they began to create a one world economic system, buying and subverting the political systems of as many sovereign nations as they could influence. The U.N. has been a vehicle through which they have tried to create an illusion that the whole world could benefit from a breakdown of sovereign national boundaries. You know, "I'd love to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony..." Their third impetus has been to get a unity of religious beliefs in order to clear the way morally for one world government (after the fashion of how the false prophet of Revelation props up the beast). The final stage of this one world governance is to use the U.N. as a tax collector for the same elite cabal. Enter the Global Poverty Act now on its way through Congress. This will give the U.N. political authority it never had before. Make no mistake, even though Obama introduced the bill in the Senate, this effort is not partisan Democrat politics. Both of the main American political parties have been steering the U.S. in this global direction. George Cancilla

....and both Obama and McCain are involved with this road to perdition. Just because McCain was a POW does not mean he is loyal to America. Both candidates work with the Council on Foreign Relations, which is the organization that developed the UN. They really are not much different, but are being portrayed differently from many angles to deceive the public.
