...or, to put it another way, no government can succeed for long without >moral< people running it. All involved, including the governed require willingness to be moral in their actions. The Founding Fathers knew this. They didn't invent the representative-republic, they simply applied the assumption that no type of government will last without the leadership of the One who invented the rules.

God's Law

Please consider that God clearly outlines in His Torah how we believers are to make provisions for the poor. Leaving corners of fields, taking care to redeem those in our families, and allowing the poor to become slaves to make work and provisions for their families. God also gives us the year of Jubilee which will be again instituted when Jesus returns. The Torah never calls for giving to the church to be used to set up social welfare, it was an individuals command to help those in need. Young widows were to marry, and this seems to apply to young divorced women, so they could be provided for.
What would Jesus do? He said "think not" that I came to destroy the law (torah) or the prophets......So why do we think He did? If He lied, He is not without sin and is not Messiah. He also could not meet prophesy of Deut. 18 "a prphet like unto Moses". The Torah is good and holy and just, and by faith were do not void the torah (nomos=law), we establish it.
Why do both sides cherry pick the Torah when it supports their limited arguments, but deny the same Torah when not convenient?

Simply put ,we Christians need to heed 2Chonicles 7 14 If my people which are called by Name shall humble theyselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,and heal their land.I pray we Christians will not be caught up in politics so much and not put the simples things first; like turning to God,then he will provide the person to lead.I believe Alar Keys could be the man.

Important information, especially for today

Political law is not neutral. It is primarily a system for creating privileges. Much legislation is devoted to "robbing Peter to subsidize Paul" as the saying goes. So many people today do not realize that a neutral form of law can exist. We spend a lot of energy competing to control the political law: that is competing for privileges. Most of us want to be Paul, but no one wants to be Peter. Therefore, we have lost a true concept of justice. We have "do unto others before they do unto you." We scramble for control and force. Political law leads to political power which then gives the privilege of using force on persons who have not harmed anyone. America must return to the rule of natural law. George Cancilla

- Which law?
| Posted On: 07/17/08 02:44:32 PM | | Age 47, NC | i would much prefer to return to God's law than natural law - God's law protects those who obey Him. Natural law protects only the strong. Click here to reply to this post

You took the words right out of my mouth, except for the candidate:
A vote for presidential candidate ALAN KEYES is also a vote for returning to the proper, limited and fundamental purpose of the law so our freedoms WILL be secured. If we don't want to lose our nation, Christians must stop voting for the lesser of two evils and vote to put a man into office who really loves our country and will turn things around. ALAN KEYES is a true Christian and a true patriot. Check out these websites:

Read the platform and watch this new party website, as America's Independent Party will endorse candidates of ANY party who are worthy of people's vote.

- YES
| Posted On: 07/15/08 08:48:42 AM | | Age 61, MO | Chuck Baldwin is running for president with the Constitution Party, whose general platform is to restore the rule of natural law and to seek a Christian ethic for our society. Also working to that same end is Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty. Pat Buchanan's web site also offers honest political information. These groups promote the character of candidates that we need for all levels of government offices. America is in need of a major overhaul. George Cancilla Click here to reply to this post
