The Issue

Just to point back to the central issue: No one is questioning Ray's message, however, the issue is Ray is publicly yoked on the Internet with these unregenerate men in violation of 2 Cor. 6:14-18 thereby giving the impression that he is in agreement with them. If I was asked to speak there I would tell them: "I will come speak provided I not be censured at all; and, because I do not agree with your version of Christianity, I do not want my name associated with yours in the promotion of the event."

Way to go Ray!!

Ray, I think it's a good idea to visit false doctrinal churches, but only if you're invited, not to ask them if you can come share. John McArthur says they aren't churches just because they gather together in his name. Only God's children are the church, so these are false Christians listening to false doctrine, and let the teachers be accursed. When they hear the truth proclaimed, which is what you will do, I know, they are admonished by God to turn from their wicked way, to Christ. As long as you don't shake your head in aggreement with them as they proclaim their false doctrine, like I do at work sometimes, laughing when an "associate" makes a dirogatory comment. I am at work with non-Christians and I need to proclaim the truth with my words and my life. We work everyday with the lost, just as we were, and we pray we will be a witness for Christ, and I pray you will be as well, Ray. I have been invited by my Lord to be there, and I believe you will be very discerning as I well know you are. Love you brother!!

God’s mercy and salvation is for everyone, not just those we think deserve Him. If only those that deserved His love got it, we’d all be headed for hell. Jonah never does grasp this. He continues to whine about his own condition but feels no pity or mercy for the Ninevites. I think you would benefit from reading the story of Jonah and the Ninevites.

- JONAH - A VERY HUMBLE MAN
| Posted On: 07/10/08 05:16:55 PM | | Age 64, OH | Every person on this earth could benefit from reading Jonah, including you, dear friend. Jesus tells us, 1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.- So I do not want to judge you or my brother Jonah, because if I judge you or he harshly I will be judged harshly. I do not know about you , but I need all the mercy I can get. It is easy to be harsh with Jonah or any man, but Nineveh was probably the most evil place on the earth at the time. Why else would God pick it out of all the cities of the world to destroy. The ruins of Nineveh still stand in Iraq and are overlaid by the suburbs of Mosul. Mosul is Muslim and evil, but God is not threating to destroy it tomorrow. Nineveh was much worse. Are you an evangelical, I do not call myself one, but call myself a servant of the Lord Jesus. But Jesus tells us to go into all the world to preach the gospel and Mosul is in this world. I have not went there, have you. Have you went anywhere as hostile as that. So why would we speak one word against this poor dead man who did go to Nineveh, when we have not. I have never preached and 120,000 people got saved have you. Jesus said, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.-- Jesus has never said that He would give a sign identified by my name, has he you. I have never been in the belly of a whale for three days and nights, because I told men to dump me into the sea, have you. I have never died for the Lord as Jonah did and He seen fit to raise me from the dead, have you. If Jesus came back today and told the world that I was a doorkeeper in His Kingdom I would drop to my knees and weep for joy. But look what Jesus said about Jonah, "for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here".- Has Jesus ever said one greater than (your name) is here now, He has never said that about me. Jonah is on a boat with a bunch of idol worshipers. A storm comes up that threatens to destroy them. Do you know of any preacher today that would say it was his fault and not the heathens. Would you or I say it is my fault. Jonah said, "Pick me up and throw me into the sea," he replied, "and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you."-- That is one of the most amazing statements in the entire Bible. Would you or I not blame the Idol worshipers. Jonah was one of the most humble men who ever lived. God picked Jonah out of all the men on the earth, God picks well my friend. Jonah is my friend and my brother, I hope you become his friend too. I have been a Ray Comfort fan ever since I was flipping channels and it landed on TBN (which I am NOT a fan of) but stopped there because of what I heard in the seconds that the clicker landed on that channel. I had been struggling with the '4 spiritual laws and ask Jesus into your heart' type of evangelism. His 'law then grace' approach just made exact sense! I was cautious because it was on TBN and Kirk Cameron being a part of it. Sorry, I only knew him as Hollywood actor who had a conversion...but lot's of Hollywood profess to be Christians. I bought an Evidence Bible and God began to reveal Himself to me. He is not a genie in a bottle you ask into your heart to give you good gifts! He is the One and only True Living God who is Holy and Just and I will have to give an account of my life to Him one day. God showed me I was in no way going to make it because of me...it would be because of Him. And He would do everything with no self righteous works from me!
I give this testimony because I believe Ray Comfort absolutely has been gifted by God to preach the gospel to every creature! Why would going to a church where people are NOT hearing the truth be a problem? Why is Ray going and showing them their true state of being guilty and needing TRUE redemption a bad thing? It is God who does the regenerating!!
I understand that his picture on the platform with these heretics will send a message to those who don't know Ray Comfort's testimony/ministry, but if God is working in them He will show them the difference between the sheep and the goats. "My sheep hear my voice and follow me." If the unregenerate lump Ray with the goats- that's to be expected! Ray would have no reputation with those anyway! Just like I was leery because of his association with Kirk Cameron on TBN, the Truth of God's Word overwhelmed me that really, these two servants were only doing their reasonable service in witnessing and God used them to His Glory in my life so I could be a trophy of grace to Him!!
I am so sad to see this friendly fire because I get lots of good information from these bloggers who are gifted by God to be watch dogs for the sheep and keep silly women from being taken captive like me. (Although, He will not lose one!) I would LOVE to see Ray Comfort on Rob Bell's platform!! God will save who He will!! He told us to preach His Word and He will be faithful. If we believe in the doctrines of grace and a truly Sovereign God over all men, let's all do our reasonable service to God after what He has done for us and preach the real good news. Something we ALL agree is not happening in American Cultural Christianity today!
In Him ALONE,
Cindy Holcomb

Ray, You Have To Warn, Not Just Preach the Gospel
| Posted On: 07/04/08 08:17:57 AM |
Age 41, WI |
Ray,
If you don't warn people that these men you're appearing with around the country like Kenneth Copeland and Jesse Duplantis are false teachers, you leave souls sitting under this deception. These aren't just health/wealth teachers, these men are teaching heresy about the very nature of Christ. Go and preach the Gospel to these people who believe they are already saved and have "Jesus". But you can't stop there. You have never warned these people when you preach at these places that they are sitting under liars and false teachers. Would you leave a newborn baby on its own to discern what to eat? You certainly wouldn't feed a baby poison. So even if someone was converted through your preaching, they're going to be feeding on toxic teaching from these men at the conference. Your presence there gives credence and credibility to men who are lying about Christ, who don't believe he was eternally existent and who reject his equality with the Father and the son. That's blasphemy. Having your photo up there with theirs on their conference website sends a dangerous message that what they are teaching is A-OK. You need to reconsider, Ray, and listen to the Christian friends who have been warning you about this.

Areopagus Americanity?

If Paul can preach to the learned Greeks at the Areopagus, who can fault you for going into a building full of lost people, some of whom think they are Christians. No "friendly fire" here, Ray. Go for it, and may God bless your effort with fruit to eternal life. Its safe to say that I'm not the only one out here praying for you.

- Not like Paul
| Posted On: 07/05/08 05:34:42 PM | | Age 51, SPAIN | Dear brother in Christ: Can we compare Ray's appearance together with heretics on the same platform with Paul at the Areopagus? I don't see it. Paul wasn't sharing his platform with anyone. Also Paul preached with no holds barred, no limitations - Ray will not be able preach in the same way. He will be restricted. I appreciate his ministry, but I would say that this is totally wrong. In His grace. Click here to reply to this post
- choking on gnats
| Posted On: 07/07/08 06:46:31 PM | | Age 55, FL | Christ decides on who are brothers, but lets not choke on gnats, though you show a tendency to do that. Grammar is clearly not your skill, or you wouldn't read what I wrote, and come away thinking I compared Ray to Paul. Instead I compared event to event. Ray's event involves going into a place known for nonsense by some of us, to give the gospel, and that is very similar to Paul's event of going into a place known for its own version of nonsense-to give the gospel. Ray could blow it there, he is merely human, and there are powerful spiritual forces that won't want him to succeed. If he is careful, and protected by the Lord, and someone comes out of Ray going there- saved, even the angels will rejoice. As I understand God's universe, Ray's name means little, so it doesn't matter who it appears beside, in addition to Christ's-as long as he is not marrying them. I'm sure I won't stop you from choking on gnats, but I wanted to try. Click here to reply to this post

Ray is one of the greatest evangelists of our time. His message is dead-on biblical, simple and very clear. But Ray, one must ask where will these folks be in a year from now if left under the false discipleship of these false teachers. Additionally, if you leave the conference with no more enemies than when you you arrived, were you actually effective? What would be "The Way of THE Master?" God Bless.

Hey Ray, you're doing a great job. I wish there was more people like you. I'm doing my best to inform the public about the truth about global warming. Unfortunately, few want to listen but I know God will use your compassion to reach the lost. Keep up the good work of the Lord Brother!!!

Ray,
Your ministry has absolutely revolutionized my life and NEVER would have heard it without Kirk preaching on TBN. I can't fathom a reason why any christian would have a problem with that. Please keep doing what you are doing and Preach the Gospel.
Thank You

| Posted On: 07/05/08 01:16:09 PM | | Age 44, CA | I have followed Ray's ministry for quite a while and I am baffled by the wave of attacks against him.
By the logic presented, it would be HORRENDOUS to preach in a bar if you didn't attack the bar owner or make all the people come out of the bar FIRST. This makes no sense. Ray's message is on point, and it will either shake up the WOF ministries, people will leave them as they gain an understanding of the true gospel.
Ray should speak anywhere and everyone someone will give him a microphone, and keep right on presenting the true gospel.
I get REALLY annoyed when people label everything Arminian (as a perjorative) just because it doesn't match their system of theology. For the purpose of winning souls (and not arguments) WHO CARES if God's grace is given to only the elect or to all men to be ABLE to surrender to Christ? OUR JOB is to preach the gospel to all men, and God will save all who repent and believe the gospel.
Ray should be encourage to continue to do what he's doing, and preach everywhere he can. HE's doing a lot more to bring people to Christ than those who are sharpening their swords to cut him down. Click here to reply to this post

Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost. They are lost. They will not hear the gospel unless you take it to them. I believe that the Christians in Jerusalem were angry with Paul for taking the gospel to the gentiles, as well. You are doing the right thing, Ray. May God bless your efforts.
