Way to stand for the truth

Lord bless you and may He continue to use you to share the truth. Your message was clear, Biblical, and delivered with grace-filled passion. I am with you on this and I too stand for truth. I recently wrote and article entitled "Would God Consider Me a Believer?" I got attacked for it. It's sad that Christians are leaving their first Love, but then Jesus told us it would happen, so we shouldn't be surprised. The day is coming when the sheep will be separated from the goats. May we be united in prayer for the those who would be swayed by the voice of the enemy who has done a marvelous job at disguising himself as an angel of light. God Bless!

I applaud your willingness to stand firm and state clearly your position. So many are sleeping when it comes to this Emergent heresy. They are essentially creating a church of tares with perhaps some wheat still hanging on. It's a sad situation. I pray the Lord will give to you and the CMA leaders the wisdom to use well the Word of God as you teach the doctrines and combat this growing heresy. I believe too that the Contemplative Spirituality and Mysticism, plus Purpose Driven and Emergent are all going to eventually converge. They are doing it already from what I've seen. May the Lord give you guidance and stamina in making the truth known.

The Church is sinking! There can be no apology for the "Emergent" church ideas, or, for that matter, any of post modern church heresies. The Church (The Body of Christ) is made up of those set apart from the world. The saints are IN the world, but not OF the world. There is no place in the Church for the world. The Emergent ideas, and the political correctness which often accompanies them, did not come about by chance. They were purposely cultivated by the same Marxists that have instituted lies in other aspects of our society, such as in education, economics, moral values, and politics; for the purpose of creating chaos and confusion, out of which the Marxists will stand ready with solutions to the problems they have created. Emergent heresies are nothing new.

Great article. I appreaciate Dr. Berman's insights. The spreading heresies of the Emergent Church movement are nothing new however. The mixture of paganism, mysticism, relativism, and socialism resulting in a false gospel is Roman Catholicism. I hesitate to call Romanism apostate because that would imply that there was a time in it's history when it was part of the true church. I don't think this is the case. Rome has always been able to be known by it's fruit. The murderous crusades and inquisitions; the abominable behavior of it's clergy, especially it's popes; it's present day sex scandals and rampant pedophilia. There is ample fruit from which they can be clearly known as false. Yet, we have had preachers over the last century or more who refuse to address this issue. Even worse, they proclaim the false catholic gospel of works to be christian. They have mingled the true gospel of grace with this false gospel of works and confused and deceived multitudes. I believe the emergent church is the result of this failure on the part of the church's watchmen. Dr. Berman correctly identifies this problem with regards to Mormonism presently: "Do we say Mormons are Christians(as Joel Osteen did)simply because they have great numbers and say the name of Jesus." This should have been the cry as regards the false gospel of catholicism all along and no doubt would have been if all the watchmen on the wall were seeking only to please The Lord. Now we see where all of this error is attempting to lead not just the emergent church, but the entire church. right back to the bondage of Rome.
I have had evangelicals say to me, "Oh you don't think catholics can be saved?" Wrong! God can save anyone. I am a living testimony to that fact, as He saved me out of catholic bondage. But it is the Gospel that is the power of God unto salvation. Not niceness and sincerity. You cannot believe the Gospel if you have not heard and understood the Gospel. The Gospel offends all of those who don't believe it, at least initially. We can't be christians if we are afraid to offend with the Gospel. Not out of a spirit of condemnation, but out of love. Eternity is a long time to wish you had known the truth. Love a catholic today and tell them the truth of the Gospel. Don't let them suffer the delusion of the lie of infused righteousness. Help them to receive the eternal life of the imputed righteousness of the Righteous One.

"The Gospel offends everyone who does not believe it." I have long believed the leaders of the Emergent Church movement to be unsaved, or at least perhaps falsely converted, as the church seems to be so full of in this day. They are offended with the absolute truth, which IS the Gospel. "Eternity is a long time to wish you had known the truth." Or had believed the truth when you had the opportunity. Thank you for your comments.
