Be Correct When Attempting To Correct Others

Paul clearly states that the gospel is "Jesus is Lord over all (including Caesar)and your reference to 1 Cor 15 is spot on. The good news is just that, not some other message of what naturally flows from Jesus being King over all. When you ask Warren to preach the Gospel, you are asking him to preach that Jesus' life, death and resurrection was prophesied and that he died for our sins. It does not say it is for forgiveness, forgiveness is a byproduct of the good news, not the good news itself.
Grace and Peace,
Jim

Bob NOT a Warren convert

Bob DeWaay is in no way a convert of Warren.
His objections against the Purpose Driven movement have never changed. Please read this extract from his anti-Purpose Driven Book:
http://www.cicministry.org/appeal.pdf
as well as his explanation here (after meeting Warren):

Interesting concept

This is very interesting. I don't think I've EVER heard someone critique Warren for saying that he preaches too much law; the criticism is usually that Warren doesn't preach law at all. But I can see where you're coming from, brother. This actually makes a lot of sense.

Conversion

The 2 former critics DeWaay and Rosebrough are now vocal converts for Warren. They are in the position of having to justify their actions in going to Warren on unbibical terms. DeWaay agrees with pastor Rick on theology and doctrine and Rosebrough thinks pastor Rick stresses repentance to much. They discovered this at the kickoff to The World PEACE Plan. Separation is occuring in the church and there will no doubt be others departing to Warren's gospel of PEACE, also disappointing. DeWaay indicated that Rosebrough will be in contact with Warren's staff in CA. Possibly his chief of staff. Events and those that carry Warren forward will now carry these men as well. They have become somewhat valuable to the forces behind Warren. They can only opt out of this by listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit and repenting. Very publically. S.S.

- Peter Pan and Never Never Land
| Posted On: 06/19/08 10:17:29 PM | | Age 52, CA | Dear S.S.: I love your command of the English language and how you were able to divine from Rosebrough's essay that he is now a certified, card-carryin' member of Rick's warren. Bunnies, all! I would never have seen that without your astute observations! On an auditory note, a visit to twincityfellowship.com and clicking on sermons would take you the June 1, 2008 Sunday school class where DeWaay spends the time stating his opposition to the Warrenites. I truly hope you rethink your position and learn how to read for comprehension and listen for clarity. Both attributes appear to be lacking in your response. - What???
| Posted On: 06/19/08 05:05:53 PM | | Age 39, TN | What DeWaay article are you referring to? I don't recall DeWaay ever agreeing with Warren's doctrine and theology. Quite the contrary. Check your facts. Rosebrough is correct. In far too many churches across America (and also in my SS lit) repentance is said to be the central theme of the Bible. The theme of the Bible is JESUS!!!! Yes, we have to repent and ask for forgiveness of our sins but the central theme is far more than repentance. It is Christ crucified!!!! Excellent article. Thanks so much.
