In response to Marsha West - Lakeland article

I think I would be more inclined to consider the points in this article if the same rule that is required of us bloggers applied to writers. We are asked to refrain from personal attacks thus encouraging healthy debate. The article written by Marsha West regarding the Lakeland meetings with Todd Bentley is sprinkled with personal attacks. What does a person's weight, bald head or ailing health have to do with discerning a move of God? I don't need venom, hate or sarcasm to sway me one way or the other. This article did not warn me, it defiled me. I would prefer getting exhortation with sound biblical teachings that impart wisdom. Ms. West had to ignore all 9 fruits of the Spirit to make her point, not to mention the many biblical accounts of how God uses the foolish things to confound the wise. Ms. West I don't believe you know what spirit you are of.

- Apply caution in everything - even here...
| Posted On: 06/18/08 01:06:36 PM | | Age 49, NORTHERN IRELAND | While to a degree, I can understand where you're coming from in your differing view on this article, I feel that your stance is exactly what Satan is aiming for - disunity in the Body regardless of how it's achieved. In other words, rather than taking the exhortation to be discerning in everything as something good, we end up fighting with each other over how it is presented to us - but it is vital that those who have the opportunity to do so, DO stand up to inform the rest of us on the dangers.
However, it is encumbent on ALL of us to search the scriptures and view all such (ungodly) practices through its lens alone. Some new Christians may not even be in the remotest aware of Satan's subtle ploys so need to be informed by articles such as this that fully outline all the reasons they SHOULD be cautious.
Unlike me, Ms. West has been very careful to be generous in giving TB the benefit of the doubt - think I'd be giving him some of his own BAM, BAM and see how he liked it, only sadly I suspect he'd "soak" it up and then "pass it on" to someone else all over again!! Click here to reply to this post

The fact that the Todd Bently brand of "Christianity" attracts such a large audience, bodes ill for humanity. The Bible does prophecy such apostasy, and even futher does prophecy the Body of Christ, the Church militant on earth, will die completely before Christ returns. I am not saying that their will not be small enclaves of believers everywhere, but the Church as a missionary force will die. I believe I can smell its rotting body. George Cancilla

I hear writers complain and even pass judgement on what Todd has done. I have seen cases of some who in appearance might have had poor displeship, and a lack of biblical accountablity in there lives. What I don't hear is anyone confronting or talking to him about these situations. The instruction to the people involved is run away and don't confront the man with the Truth. As for demons Jesus confronted legion, and there were angles named in the bible, I can think of 2. There also seems to be a aspect of if it don't look like my church it is wrong. Christian history shows us every time we try to box God in our denominations He jumps out of it.

God's Word speaks of counterfeit miracles

In Rev 16:14 "For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles", and 19:20 "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him"
Also, in the Old Testament (Exodus), the Egyptian magicians WERE able to duplicate:
(1) turning their staves into asps (though Aaron's asp proved the counterfeit by eating those of the magicians)
(2) turning water into blood
(3) producing lots of frogs

Something is happening in Florida for all these people to be flocking there and taking it back to their fellow believers. I believe the Lord is getting his Sheep ready -- and that involves making their bodies healthy to do his work in this world during the end times.
