Rom. 7:4 ¶ Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.
"in order that we might bear fruit for God."
Indeed. this is the very REASON we are to be salt and light in this world. The Ressurection of our LORD Y'Shua is as salt to this world in that we are able to spread about that which gives life itself, the very Gospel of Jesus, to everyone we meet; And the Light of God to all that they may see the deeds of Yahweh, that He is good.
Th Christian's Primary goal is always to be salt AND light to all we meet in our daily lives. Though "events" accomplish some, it is the daily interaction with those we meet that affords the opportunities we must be READY to take ADVANTAGE of in sharing our Faith in Y'Shua as Messiah, Kapparah and King; Savior, Atonement and LORD of our lives.
How can we expect to know what to say, to be effective if we do not get the training we need? Did you just jump in a car and drive or did someone with experience demonstrate and train you in the operation? Every Believer needs to understand HOW to share their faith, and the priority of doing so,; the responsibility that we all share in obedience to our LORD's command to do so, every day, to each person.
Go to http://www.WayoftheMaster.com and learn how to Biblically share you faith so effectively that every person you speak to will know what is expected of them by Yahweh.
I have personally spoken to thousands of people since learning how to deliver the Gospel correctly, the way Jesus did. And I am so grateful I now can be sure no one is every confused again about what God wants for us all!
Be a good steward of what you have been given Christian. LEARN how to share your faith from those who have gone before you and preach the Gospel the way Jesus did, the Way of the Master.

Truth be told

I can't agree more with this article. The main purpose of being born again is being a child of God in His family, the body of Jesus Christ, functioning to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ -- which was to bring salvation to those who will respond to Him. Going to church 7 days a week, listening to Christian music 14 hours a day (every day), plus 4 hours of Bible reading every day, giving 90% percent of your income to the church and its evangelists is not functioning as a member of the body of Christ.
Does the light of Jesus shine in our lives bright enough to attract the attention of people to whom you can present the gospel of Christ, or at least invite them to your church? Do our neighbors, co-workers, classmates, friends, know we are Christian? Does our conduct and attitude reflect strong Christian values to all who see us? Doing so might draw people's attention to what the source of our joy is.
If you think that going to church, giving your tithes, praying, and reading the Bible on a daily basis without being doers of the Word is going to contribute to your spiritual growth, you are very wrong. God prefers obedience over sacrifice anytime.
