Mark 9: 20So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth 21Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?" "From childhood," he answered. 22"It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But IF you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." 23" 'IF YOU CAN'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." 24Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; HELP ME OVERCOME MY UNBELIEF!" 25When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again." - The boys father did not know who Jesus was. We can see this by his statements. The boys father however had turned to the Lord Jesus Christ and whoever calls on the Name of The Lord will be saved. The boys father said help IF you can. And Jesus told him EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE for him who believes. The father then CONFESSED his unbelief and asked for Jesus to help him believe. Notice that Jesus immediately helped the father believe and dispelled his unbelief by healing the boy. The father knew NOTHING of the TRINITY. It matters NOT what we know or do not know. It matters not what we believe or what we do not believe. THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS WHO WE TURN TO SAVE US. The father turned to the One and Only God Almighty and he was not disappointed was he. 26The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." 27But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

WE ONLY NEED THE SMALLEST GRAIN OF FAITH TO MOVE MOUNTAINS

Steve you quote, "must believe that he is;" or exists, as the Arabic version; and he must not barely believe his existence, but that, as it is revealed in the word: he must believe in the three Persons in the Godhead; that the first Person is the Father of Christ; that the second Person is both the Son of God, and Mediator; and that the third Person is the Spirit of them both,-- The holy Scriptures disagree with this and show otherwise in the stories of the NT. We do not have to have a mature and strong belief in The Lord Jesus Christ to be saved by Him who is the One and only One who can save. Matthew 17:20 Jesus said- "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." - We only need the smallest grain of faith to speak to mountains and ahve them move. Lou

I enjoy reading these insightful articles. It is heartwarming to see the grace of God as a gift to us because of regeneration by the Holy Spirit and not because we 'accepted it of our own free will'. Thank you for the clear teaching in your articles.
