Rick's teaching

what is being said here is rick's teachings are completely wrong.he never preaches that Jesus is the way,the truth, the life,no one can come to the father but only by Jesus himself,he never preaches repentance.only if you have Godly repentance can come to Jesus and be saved,we are saved by faith in Jesus and in Jesus alone.anyone that follows rick warren's teachings is following him into the pits of hell.the Bible makes it very very clear.not the rick warren endorsed version, that is NOT the word of God.i recomend the the King James or New King James translations.compare those translations to the rick warren endorsed one.i would not want to be in rick's shoes,as a teacher he will undergo a greater condemnation
at judgement.don't follow him there, follow Jesus instead!!

Seminar Correspondents?

Rush Limbaugh had a term for callers who were coached to portray themselves as conservatives but they actually called to defend or attack a position or person with the intention of advancing a non conservative position. He called them "seminar callers". Most of the above posts have the same insincere ring to them. Authors, editors and readers beware! Do you really think that all these same sounding posts were written by regular readers of CWN? Rick is very slick.

I listened to the whole Hannity/Warren thing in context. Warren continues to push a gospel that is no gospel at all. If Jesus is the only begotten of the Father and shed his blood for us then He is the only way to heaven through faith in his sacrifice and resurrection. to speak of any other way is a slap in the face of a Holy God. I'm amazed Warren has any defenders on this site who claim to be Christians. Get your fingers back in the text and in the context. I'd like to see Warren try to give his message ......Oh never mind. I forgot this is america where if you have a mega-church you are auto-matically right.

Out of Context

Yep, he took what he said completely out of context. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk______________
I would be fearful of God taking me out of context and judging me with the same measure....

- boiled down
| Posted On: 05/08/08 10:01:47 AM | | Age 51, OH | It seems to me that Rick Warren did a great job of speaking to non-Christians in their language. (I became all things to all men.) I don't know how you can give more of yourself than you understand - it's impossible. He was just saying - Come as you are to a God that you might not understand yet, and He'll take you. You don't have to change, and you don't have to understand everything about Jesus yet. God will show you the way. I'm so glad God accepted me this way - and as I read the Bible and got more healed, I can follow Him more and more in truth. Maybe there's more Warren is saying that I haven't heard yet. Concerned for Rick

I've listened to more than one interview Mr. Warren has done and read the transcript for an in-depth interview that he did with a magazine whose name I can't recall at the moment. Several times in that particular interview, he brought up the fact that he had a best selling book. I think he's quite excited by that and perhaps he doesn't want his popularity to diminish. In the interviews he's done it seems apparent that he tends to try to make everything he says palatable to his audience. For the moment it just seems to me that he is waffling on the truth a bit. However, I am interested in seeing the Evangelical Manifesto that he and others have signed which is supposed to be released on Wednesday. I'm very interested to see what it says and what Mr. Warren has officially signed his name to.

- Warren and Evangelical Manifesto
| Posted On: 05/07/08 02:37:26 PM | | Age 65, PA | Since I haven't read Warren's books, i.e. The Purpose Driven Life, I can't directly comment on hid orthodoxy. However, I just read the 20-page "Evangelical Manifesto" to which I understand he is a signatory. It's online at http://www.anevangelicalmanifesto.com/manifesto.php
In my initial reading I could find nothing I disagree with as a conservative Christian. I hope others will read it and pay particular attention to the 7-point statement of beliefs starting on page 5. One may argue emphasis, but the overall document seems good. Click here to reply to this post
He Got God On A Technicality Again

I saw this disaster (Warren&Hannity) when it originally aired. To his million-plus congregation Ricky preached salvation by works and his amen corner (silly Sean) nodded in agreement. Sean Hannity is NOT a Christian. He has an affiliation with an orginization that uses a cross as it's logo...nothing more. He "admires Oprah" for her "Christian stand" and her "Christian works" so how much could Sean even know ABOUT Christ, much less, have an intimate relationship with Him? Brother, Pastor, Reverand, Bishop Warren preaches to Hannity and the masses that they're all going to heaven because they're good people doing good works and they go to church. Quit covering for this guy, people! This is the message that he preaches everywhere he goes. He's a liar. Most of you feedback posters here HAVE been brainwashed. The proof is your never-ending, never-changing methods of justifying the holy Rick Warren and His unique and inspiring ability to dazzle, even God, with His special insight and above average "goodness". The other proof of the brain washing is how often the comments start with: "I'm no fan of Rick Warren, but...". If Rick Warren would admire God half as much as He admires Himself, and if His "non-fans" would defend Gods words half as much as they defend (and explain) Ricks words...wow! It's not just okay to expose the lies of Rick Warren, it's required of us.

Where is Jesus?

There was no mention of to enter Heaven we must except Jesus by faith and His death on the cross for our sins and repentance of our sins and to be born again. Without Jesus you are not going to Heaven. Yes, some of what he said had truth in it but not how to get to Heaven.

Where is Jesus mentioned?

Jesus said you must be born again to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Believe in Him and repent of your sins, admitting that you are a sinner, asking His forgiveness. Only the blood of the Lamb (Jesus)thru God`s grace saves you, not works and you enter heaven. lt`s that simple! Like the thief on the cross that Jesus said would join Him in paridise that very day. Simple enough for a child.

Rick Warren is a heretic!
| Posted On: 05/06/08 11:52:05 AM |

The problem with Rick Warren is that he is the master of vague thoughts... Listen to Way of the Master when they procalim the gospel vs Rick Warren. One of those groups only ever mentions the need for repentance and the cross and trusting in the finished work of Jesus. If you leave any of that out, you aren't presenting the ONLY WAY TO SALVATION! WE should not fill in the blanks and assume what Pastor Warren is saying, he should just SAY IT CLEARLY, because hearts are entering eternity by 150 K a day. Rick Warren is an evil man who twists scritpture. I tossed my PDL book! I never did have a good feeling about that book after a bit.
He supports the Emergent church and has penned his thoughts and name through out one of Dan Kimball's books. I forget the name but it's title says Vintage faith/Christianity something? In it Dan favorably quotes Oprah who says that you can't beleive that Jesus is the only way. Rick Warren put his name on that!
He has had Brian Mclaren write for his pastors.com! Brian is the worst heretic ever.
