The New Dobson

I have been listening to FOF and reading Dr .Dobson's books since the 70's.
However, I have noticed a subtle change in the last few years. While I continue to admire his strong pro-life, pro-marriage, etc. stances in the face of strong liberal media bias, I was disappointed in his non-support of a Christian Presidential candidate who supports those same values. I believe if he had announced his personal support of such a candidate early, he could have made a possible difference in the Presidential race.
Also, is it possible his son, Ryan's radical style ministry is the reason for Dobson's reluctance to renounce the dangerous aspects of the new emergent church.(Ryan is an adult in his late 30's who continues to sport spiked hair, earrings, tattoos, and ride skateboards, while conveniently working for his father. Seems like a large child to me, but his support of Pastor Rob Bell is of much more concern then his apparent immaturity).
I will be praying Dr. Dobson returns to the straight and narrow path of Biblical truths he promoted in the past, and is not sucked into the politically correct, appealing lure of the emergent church of today.(I can't help but wonder if there will be a lot of "good" people, with "high self-esteem" on the road to hell).

Brannon, you are so right about this subject. I saw Shirly Dobson on Schullers program while flipping through the channels, and I was in shock! It sent chills up my spine! I did not watch any of the program. I can't stomach watching any of the "Hour of Power"(yuk!) program. His "crystal" cathedral even makes me sick to look at. Why would any man of God build a Crystal Cathedral? Crystals are very popular with the new agers, and the witches and warlocks. Look at Harry Potter, and the rest of them. They love crystals! They think there is power in them. I have been a big supporter of Focus on The Family for years, but I am concerned now about what is going on with them. The bible said that in the last days that there would be such a strong spirit of "DECEPTION" poured out upon "ALL" nations, that if "POSSIBLE", even the very "ELECT" would be deceived. I asked God who the elect were, and He showed me in His word that all throughout the Bible, the only ones that were termed the "elect" were the "elect in Christ", or Christians. We now see that the Christian leaders in America are now falling into the new age beliefs one right after another. I think they are doing this out of "peer pressure" from their so called Christian friends, because they don't want to feel left out of their "holy huddles". There is so much arrogance, and pride in so many of our big name teachers, and preachers on t.v. today. Not all, but some. I have watched them change. They start out humble, and sincere, and soon as they start to get "BIG", they start to slowly change, and I can see it as it happens. I can tell they are not aware of how they look to others. It seems like as they start rubbing elbows with the big wigs in the TBN crowd, they just start changing. Then I stop supporting them, and look for the next honest, humble pastor to come on the scene. I feel like I am all alone down here as far as Christian fellowship is concerned. Even my own friends, and family do not have any spiritual discernment, and I know they think I am extreme in my beliefs. My beliefs are extremely "BIBLICAL". I took your world view test, and passed easily with a Christian world view. It is so simple for me to see what is going on in the world, but everyone I know is falling for the new age lies. One of my favorite friends has now started listening to his new hero new ager David Hawkins, an extreme nut case. They will turn me in to be beheaded someday, and I really don't care. I am ready to be with my Lord, and see an end put to all of this human madness, and mockery of God. Everyone becomes a believer in what I believe sooner, or later. If they were nearly as smart as they profess to be, it would be sooner!
