I am not ashamed!

Brothe Camp,
I agree with you about Idol taking the name of Jesus out. Yet I am not without hope! Why because we know all things work together for good for those who love Him, for those who are called according to His purpose. If we love God, then we are also called. Though the world might not lift up the name of Jesus to be glorified, yet His name will be glorified!!! I do know this, the Lord Jesus Christ Almighty used that song to do of His will and good pleasure. To touch whom He wanted to touch! I look to the Pharoah being used by our Father in Heaven to set His people free. God owns the earth, and all that is in it. Even when men fail and seek the glory of God, the name of Christ shall never fail, because He has already overcome the world and won the victory!!!
Keep on keeping on for Jesus. The road is narrow, so narrow that only those who follow Jesus will make it through the narrow gate!
Be Blessed brother
Walt

An idol for believers?

I don't get it: Why would any follower of Jesus participate in anything which promotes people seeking to be an "idol"?
Words are important!

Steve, I must confess, I did notice Jesus name missing from the song, but just hearing it sung on this show kind of gave me warm and fuzzies. You know, there are pleanty of songs on "Christian" radio that do not mention Jesus by name but the name "Lord" or "Savior" is used.
I agree, the integrity of a song should be maintained. Isn't the song copyrighted?

The Name of Jesus Proclaimed on Idol

I agree that the name of Jesus should not have been taken out, however at the encore performance of the song on Thursday night, the name of Jesus was sung loud and cleam! In addition to that, a few weeks ago when Dolly Parton was the guest the name of Jesus was sung over and over again. I am glad the the name of Jesus is being proclaimed on one of the most watched shows in the country right now and give them much credit for doing so.

With respect... I have been listening to Mark Driscoll's podcasts since Sept '07 when he spoke out against the heresesies of the Emerging Church leaders, I have not heard him use foul language in any of his messages. He may have in the past, but he has publically confessed and repented for saying stupid things, and I beleive He is now a leader in contending for the faith and standing on biblical faithfulness.
I sugeest that you listen to these before you continue to rip him:

Shout to the Lord

It's evident the network responsible here is a part of our great Country that "does" want the comfort and shelter mentioned here, but its the "humbling obedience" that poses the problem. It goes back to the old atage "you can tell the child the stove is hot, however, if you don't explain what hot means its but a matter of time before they get burned". We have to do a better job of explaining the meaning of faith to tommorrows adults to hopefully stem the tide of further ignorance, and correct the path ahead. We, the United States, are "collectively" tasked with carrying a torch of righteousness whether we choose to carry it "individually" or not!
Lord, Help us hang on!

Those who can't tolerate his name will one day bow before Him ... like it or not.

I did notice that on this show that Jesus was changed to Shepherd but on the Thursday night show they sang it again and this time they did say 'Jesus'.

They began the Thurs. night show with "Shout to the Lord" and kept Jesus' name in it this time......guess Christians gave them enough flack that they fixed their 'mistake'. Just goes to show why we need to speak up!!
