A daughter's perspective...

As a daughter still under her parent's protection, I can say to parents out there, "Please, please teach your children to be wise, to make good choices." I have friends whose parents just assumed that 'they raised them right' and let their teenagers run rampant in this dangerous world. These friends have messed up lives because of their parents' assumptions.
My father has frequently instructed me in the way of wisdom. He doesn't let my mistakes slide, thinking that I'll figure it out myself. Instead, he takes the time to show me what I should have done, and how to apply it to "next time." He is esteemed in my eyes because of that, and because he also lives what he says!
Parents, it encourages young people like me when you "live the sermon instead of preaching it." Please live your lives in such a way that we can't help but want to model ours after your examples (ultimately, Christ's). Sarah

The father in proverbs wrote to warn his son of dangerous people and among them women who would lead him astray. But in this nation today we also need to warn our children of Oprah and Osteen and the other false teachers like them. If the people of this nation had read and done what proverbs says they would not have been carried away by the false teachings of these people. The best way to protect your children against the counterfeit jesus is to teach them about the real Jesus. But for one to teach of the real Jesus they first have to know the real Jesus themselves. AMEN!!!! If we instill in our kids--and ourselves--the TRUTH (God's Wisdom), they will see the anti-christs like Oprah and the like. Like the treasury agents study and know our money, so if we study and know the Bible, we will be able to spot a false gospel.
