new age, etc at rick warren's church

It seems that more and more people are following Rome. The Roman Catholic church has been new age (and worse) for a long time. That is not to say there are still some true believers trying to be salt and light in that dark place. But as a whole, Catholicism has been outside true Christianity for a long time. I am concerned that many other "movements" are going the same direction, like Bill Hybels of the Willow Creek Assoc, and that mega church with Joel Osteen. I am not a Christian fundamentalist but in this I can see their point: if you make your umbrella too big you can end up including lesser desirable elements, even heresy.......

This Is Blasphemy...Against Rick Warren!
Posted On: 04/08/08 07:15:06 AM Age 51, GA
My own 73 year old mother is in a cult. She is in a Purpose Driven "church" that proudly displays their bondage on their website, signs, bulletins, news letter, T-shirts, tattoos..."Silverdale Baptist-A Purpose Driven Church...blah, blah, blah" Their website goes on to justif...explain that their whole function is based on holy scripture (Rick Warrens writings). Her church went through the 40 Years Of Purpose hypnotism trance several years ago. It's all justified by how many people have come through the doors, how much money is raised, how many buildings are going up, how many people "went forward", and how they now have a "praise team" that causes some people to raise their hands and sway (that was "of the devil" in the not-too-distant past). I no longer warn my mother about this demonic seduction. It makes me feel bad to cause my mother to defend her participation in this apostasy. She gets so worked up she shakes. My mother is not unique in this sad situation. There are more Baptists than there are people and this is exactly why the devil targeted this denomination. Before the PD con, the bondage was simply the Baptist denomination. That angers some of you. Sorry. If we could ever get as defensive of Christ Jesus as we do our own denominations we would be a force to be reckoned with. If we could get as starry-eyed about the Lord Jesus as we do about the Rick Warren's we would have compassion for the lost. If we could get as much direction from the Word of God as we do from 'The Purpose Driven Life' we would run FROM, instead of TO, these false prophets. Let's face it, in this country, it's always been about our religion and not the the Holy Lamb of God. That's why we're in the dark, evil, predicament that we're in. I have to live my life in a way that people like my mother will come running to my relationship with God when they see the truth about this angel of light. I just hope it will not be too late.

  1. Apostasy of the Church

The apostasy of the church has spread not only to the Baptists and its various fragments but to all denominations. This apostasy must happen if God's plan must go forward. It saddens me to see this but Satan has crept into the sanctuaries and into the hearts of its people. Rick Warren is but one misguided sole who has chosen his path of damnation if it were only him but he's taking others with him. Then again, they are choosing their own path as well. It has been difficult for me to find a local church that has not adopted this new age belief system and sadly I don't attend any church and find I'm lacking in a relationship with true Bible-believing Christians. I have my few friends at work who are believers and that helps tremendously. Pray that His return does not tarry long.

There are, as I understand it, more than 30 types of the Baptist denomination out there. Some are "Free Will Baptists", some are "King James Only Baptists", some are Reformed Baptists, and the list goes on. I personally know of several non-Baptist groups that have been taken in by the New Age, Market driven mentality. So I would be cautious about focusing only one very diversified and fractured denomination as the main group at fault. There's some really good solid Baptist local bodies of Christ out there pastored by men who teach the authoritative, Word of God and truly love Him and their people. The problem I have in my little corner of the world is folks spend a lot of time watching TV and most of what is aired in the so called Christian programming realm is pure poison. I pastor a very small church in a remote village in Alaska and am constantly having to warn against this stuff and point my folks back to the Bible. It's a very time consuming distraction. My point is that false teaching finds it's way in everywhere - not just one denomination. But then you probably know that - I just wish to make this counterpoint so our vigilance is not to0 narrowly focussed. In Christ Ron
