Reality check

This is nothing new, A&E bought it and Satan has been selling it ever since. The problem is that Satan owns to airwaves as Christians struggle to find a RELEVANT venue to speak the truth. However, speaking the truth to an audience that is self focused never produces lasting results. Right now Americans don't think they need Christ, so instead turn to a gospel that will keep them in control and yet give them hope for the afterlife. I hate to say it, but what is needed is a huge economic depression to get Americans to quit suckling the money sow, and to turn back to God. John

Pray for the sheep.

I thank God for the eternal security of the believer! And I pray for the lost sheep (John 10:26-28).
These poor fools are tragically mistaken, not understanding the scriptures not the power of God (Matthew 22:29). Why don't they understand? Jesus answered that one as well (John 3:19-20): they love sin too much to acknowledge He is Lord, He is Holy, His Justice is perfect and irrevocable, and we are sinners wholly dependent upon His mercy to save us from hell, His grace to give us eternal life.
It is only after we recognize our complete dependence upon Him, that all we do is worthless to earn His favor, and we rejoice in His gift, only then can we be free, and begin an eternity of praise!
Hallelujah! He is Risen, He is Risen indeed!

Nothing New

As Solomon the Preacher said, "There's nothing new under the sun." The lies of the diabolical serpent in Eden..."Thou shalt be as gods"...still continues. Under the guise of enlightenment, the Great Deceiver uses those in spiritual darkness to build his malevolent kingdom by convincing prideful creatures they are really Creators. It is the supreme folly when a man makes himself into a god when he is unable to even make a worm from scratch. (Even "Scratch" is another name for Satan). The man who believes he can become a god has never really had a small glimpse of the all-sufficient, all-knowing, all-powerful, eternal Lord Creator God. Such a glimpse would engender great sincere humility. (It is that "by humility and fear of the Lord are riches, and honor, and life"). May God give His people much discernment in these last days.

The Shift Movement

This is so very sinister in it's nature.
It is exactly what we were warned about in Church years ago, and of course, in the Bible before that. "having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof" Thank you for bringing this to light. It is troubling and it shows why "Christians" are divorcing at the same rate or higher than the world. If the divorce rate is higher it is because many in the world see no reason to wed and just co-habitate.
For now, I am teaching my children according the Bible and warning them about the deceivers in the world. We attended a feel-good church for a few months at one time and it bothered us that they never offered a chance for people to get saved.
They stated that it was something they wanted people to discover after attending the Church for a while. If they never talk about it how does one discover it?
I would feel very defeated in all of this if I had not read the back of the book many times, and know who wins in the end.

Alas, Babylon!

The Bible teaches that it is never about me. It is always about God. Sola Deo Gloria. Revelation chapter 18 talks about the fall of Mystery Babylon, the Great Harlot: "How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her; for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow." (Revelation 18:7). The lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the vainglory of life pleases those who persecute the church. They are those who drink of the Harlot's golden cup, but in the end, these people end up hating the Harlot and burn her with fire. (See Rev. 17:16cf). Christians are instructed to "come out of her and not be partakers of her sins." (Revelation 18:4). So we see the church of Luther's Reformation moved from Sola Deo Gloria and Sola Scriptura more and more toward preoccupation with self and empty rhetoric of the post modern emergent churches. The same serpent of old still lurks, and whispers that we can be like God. When the world offers us her treasures, we should follow the example of Jesus in Matthew 4:8-10. George Cancilla
