Clinton Fein: Serious or Not on Gay Agenda?

The article Matt Barber quoted from, "The Gay Agenda" by Clinton Fein, was taken to be seriously. However, Fein said in the article itself "Despite the tongue-in-cheek nature of this piece, it can, and likely will, be taken out of context, and used destructively by bigots and homophobes with ill intentions. From the other side, I'll be criticized for irresponsibly kindling the already raging fires by providing fresh fodder." I don't know about "After The Ball" book & what he said- that could very well be taken correctly- but Fein was not to be taken seriously, like he was revealing the actual agenda I am not saying there isn't things they want done, or there isn't an agenda, just that this was irresponsible selective clipping without any context or quoting CF with the quote I included. Read the article by Fein for yourself. It's one thing to expose something false, but there is no excuse to be sloppy, or worse when speaking, or writing. That's untrustworthy, and Christians should not combat error with error.

Criminalizing the wrong thing

The problem with criminalizing behavior between consenting adults is that it leads to making other things fall under the auspices of the government that people may not want criminalized. Here in Minnesota the sodomy law included acts by married couples under the law. With that kind of nonsense, going back to criminalizing adult consensual behavior the government deeper into our lives, rather than further.

Misinformation on "Hate Crimes"

I have seen no reference to the 11 "Repent, America" protestors being charged with "hate crimes," and I find it impossible to believe they were. There has been a great deal of misinformation spread about Congressional "hate crime" legislation. The bill that passed said nothing at all about speech acts, or about causing emotional distress; it referred explicitly, and exclusively, to violent crime causing bodily harm.

Sodomy used to be illegal

The best way to thwart the gay and lesbian coalitions is at the state level. Many states used to have sodomy laws on their books. Citizens could petition their state governments to reinstate and revitalize sodomy laws. It may not stop homosexual behavior, but it would keep it out of sight and ear shot. With the proper laws, promotion of homosexuality would be like promoting murder: illegal. There is no discrimination here, nor violation of right to free speech. You are right. It is not a discrimination of race, color, or creed. It is simply a prohibition of homosexuality in the same vein as murder, fraud, and stealing. George Cancilla

- Who does it hurt, really?
| Posted On: 02/15/08 06:59:16 PM | | Age 22, NY | So "all are equal in the eyes of God" but just because a person disagrees with you or follows a different way of life it's okay to kick them out of a job for that sole reason? That is the definition of bigotry.
"Gone are references to, or images of, the millions of homosexual men wasting away in hospice due to behaviorally related diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis and Syphilis. (Unnatural behaviors beget natural consequences. As Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death.”)"
The last time I checked, heterosexuals are just as likely to get STDs.
"And gone are references to, or images of, men and women trapped in the homosexual lifestyle who aimlessly seek to fill a spiritual and emotional void through promiscuous and meaningless sexual encounters"
What about heterosexuals who do this? Why are you not aiming at promiscuity rather than homosexuality? I sense a double standard here. And heterosexuals engage in sodomy too, by the way, so imposing anti-sodomy laws would just be taking away people's liberties. Click here to reply to this post

Every job i've ever had was subject to termination by me or the employer at any time for any reason. The government should not be telling me who i can hire and who i can fire.
And the government shouldn't be telling people how to have sex either. The unsaved will be given to sexual sin and its the responsibility of the Church, not the government, to appeal to their hearts (not their behavior) to be saved. On a different note, it's verifiable that infectious diseases are transmitted more frequently via sodomy than vaginal intercourse.
i am glad you point out the apparent double standards the American church has with homosexual sin and heterosexual sin. We are blasted with sexual images all day long and not too much a fuss is made, but the moment it becomes homosexual the church is in an uproar. Click here to reply to this post
- Liberties
| Posted On: 02/16/08 06:52:21 AM | | Age 61, MO | God does not extend liberty to homosexuality, fornication, or adultery. What people choose to do out of the public eye is their business and they will have to answer to God for it. In the mean time, God does grant me the liberty to not have that iniquitous lifestyle in my face or my children's faces. George Cancilla Click here to reply to this post
