I thought you were one of the few writers for Christian Worldview who is using the real Bible--the King James.
Was this a typo?
"Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4)."

Marriage is a commitment made by two people of the opposite sex and to God. It is meant to be a lasting covenant. A state issued marriage license is useful, but not necessary in the eyes of God. George Cancilla

- I humbly disagree, Mr. Cancilla

Throughout all history, some kind of ceremony and defining act has declared a marriage to have taken place. In those societies that have written methods of record keeping, some type of written document or license has also been part of the process. Based on the teachings of Scripture, IF the government under which you live has a license requirement, then you are duty bound - as a Christian - to obtain it prior to marriage. The observation that marriage is a covenant between man, woman, and God is true - but we cannot toss out the civil duties attached with it and claim obedience to God's Word.
