Fasting

Janet, I admire you very much. I enjoy your radio show. Here's what I do have a problem with, and it bothers me. I work in a legal office, and hear all the time how babies and small children are abused terribly, some killed. As much as I know abortion is wrong, I also know that if the babies were to born, they would be abused. I know God's will is for them to be born, because he creates life, but it hurts so much to see them abused. Help me with this, I know it's wrong thinking.

FAST SHOULD BE TO REPENT

The people of Nineveh did not give up dessert for a few days to try to influence God or get God to change his mind. But read what the king said; "By the decree of the king and his nobles:
Do not let any man or beast, herd or flock, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. 8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call URGENTLY on God. Let them GIVE UP THEIR EVIL WAYS and their violence. 9 Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish."
10 When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened. -- We can see from this that the fast was not to change get god to grant them something but it was an act of repentance. God clearly says if we turn from our evil ways he will heal our land. If we want to fast I think it should be to ask God to reveal to us what the church is doing that displeases the Lord. Then we can repent and he will heal our land. Our we serious enough to ask God this. I would be willing to join in this fast. Lou

Abortion and Judgment

I pray that God's will be done. I pray for and pity the women and doctors that have murdered these unborn children of God. I don't pity the children because God has taken them home. Judgment is already upon the U.S. in the form of economic hard times. We may be forced to fast whether we want to or not. George Cancilla
