Joel Osteen continues to show himself to not only be a false prophet but worse now he endorses a cult as being Orthodox for the simple reason that he "hasn't studied up on them". Its saddens me that these television networks continue to interview "men of the faith" who continually hold to foolish man centered theology. I thank God that even though Larry King is not a believer he is not afraid to bring a Christ centered Bible preaching John MacArthur on his program to effectively answer such questions. The truth behind the question that Mike Wallace asked is that these networks are continually out to disqualify Christ whether by showing Christianity to be a "hating" religion or by seeking out shallow minded people like Joel Osteen to blind people to exclusive claims of Christ and paint Christianity as a religion with full inclusion of anyone who simply says "Christ is my savior".

Typical Osteen drivel

"I probably don't get hung up in them because I haven't really studied them or thought about them. And you know, I just try to let God be the judge of that." That's about what he says any time there's a question needing real depth. He shrugs, says "I dunno," and smiles real big. You can get more spiritual depth from "Barney and Friends" ...

How narrow is the road?

Seems so sad Olsteen will not stand up for True doctrine it seems like they forgot were they came from, hopefully he will find Jesus of the bible and turn to truth and stand on it no matter the cost. God give us all strength to stand for truth and let our yes be yes and no be no. Oh lord Jesus save us.

The Tragedy Of Compromise
Posted On: 12/31/07 02:04:35 PM Age 53, CA
Joel is motivating. Joel is persuasive. Joel is smart. I was willing to give him the benefit of doubt after his infamous Larry King appearance, but I can't cut him the same slack THIS time. Joel is never to stand up for the truth of Christianity when he is given an opportunity on the national stage. His compromise is tragic, not only to the faith but to the poor naive "Christians" that look to him as their pastor or as a representative of true Christianity. THIS faux pas should settle the issue once and for all!

Osteen

I preface my comment by saying that television is a dangerous medium, because it has the ability to plant false ideas in the minds of literally millions of people simultaneously. The audio video messages from television bypass that part of our brain that would normally "filter" a similar message we would read from the written page. This filtering doesn't even take into consideration the capability of the audio visual medium to easily include a subliminal message. Televangelism, as a sub set of TV, can be an even more dangerous medium. Joel Osteen is just one among many other pastors who are successfully herding millions into THEIR flocks, but not necessarily into Christ's flock. Joel Osteen says he believes in Christ, and Mitt Romney believes in Christ, and that is good enough for him. Well, George Bush said he believed in Christ. What glory have these guys brought to God? Mere adherence to a creed is not true faith. Even the demons know and accept the truth of the creed, but they do not possess saving faith. (James 2:19-20). Saving faith will bear good fruit. MORMONS BELIEVE IN BILLIONS OF GOD'S
Posted On: 12/31/07 08:35:12 AM Age 64, OH
When asked what was the most important command of God, Jesus replied, HEAR O ISRAEL THE LORD YOUR GOD IS ONE. In the OT God says He alone is God and there is no God except for Him. From the Mormon "Pearl of Great Price" in Abraham Chapter 4;1 the God's plan the creation of the earth and all life thereon - their plans for the six days of creation are set forth. - And then the Lord said: let us go down. And they went down at the beginning, and they, that is the GOD'S,organized and formed the heavens and they earth. 2 And the earth, after it was formed, was empty and desolate, because they had not formed anything but the earth;and the darkness reigned upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of the GOD'S was brooding upon the face of the waters. 3 And they ( the GOD'S) said; Let there be light; and there was light --- This corruption dreamed up by Joesph Smith as the creation account shows that they DO NOT BELIEVE THE BIBLE and they BELIEVE IN MANY GOD'S NOT ONE. WERE THE PHARISEES CHRISTIANS
Posted On: 12/31/07 07:58:04 AM Age 64, OH
Jesus Christ is God Almighty and here is a partial list of people who claimed to follow God Almighty or Jesus Christ. THE PHARISEES, THE SADDUCEES, THE JEHOVAH WITNESSES, BALAAM, THE MORMONS, AND ALMOST ALL CULTS all claim to be Christians or followers of God Almighty. Look in The Revelation and see that Babylon The Great is an adulteress so claims to be married to Jesus Christ but is not. The Koran claims The name of Jesus Christ as a prophet but then does puts another mere man above Jesus. The Mormons do the same the proclaim the name of Jesus Christ but then do not follow His teaching or warnings that no one is above or equal to Jesus. All these false religions want to use the Name of Jesus Christ but then do not TRUST IN HIM. The Mormons do not trust in Jesus and no one else to save them. They follow a dead man named Joseph Smith and they do not believe the Bible but the book of Mormon. Lou

Devoid of Discernment
Posted On: 12/31/07 06:27:45 AM Age 53, VA
The state of church today is devoid of any discernment. Jesus warned us that in the end there would be many false Christs and false prophets. We are warned that Satan's servants appear as servants of righteousness. The Bible gives us the sense that we are surrounded by error and deceit and yet whenever I ask the average church goer to name just one false prophet/teacher or just one false Christ they can't come up with ANY. That's like a swimmer in shark infested water claiming that there are no sharks--somebody's going to get bit.
