Sad little Osteen
Posted On: 01/03/08 08:26:55 AM Age 21, NC
It so horrible how Osteen has lead possibly millions into eternal damnation because of his false gospel. Before I deleted my Myspace account, I posted on Joel'd personal page only to be attacked by his loyal listeners. After engaging in a conversation with one of them, it became quite clear that he had absolutely no knowledge of the faith and why Osteen was wrong. Osteen will answer some day for all this that he has done. I pray for him and Lakewood to come to the saving power of Jesus Christ. And another thing, when did this guy announce his calling to preach, from what I understand, his dad left and he came out from behind the camera and took over just because he was his son. Can someone please inform me on this?

No big surprise

Joel Osteen has the spiritual depth of a kiddie pool ... it's hardly surprising that he doesn't know about the heresy of Mormonism.

God help us

I am so afraid, and I mean so afraid, that what Osteen believes is what so many of our people in the pews also believe. We need pastors that are not afraid to tell their TV-fed congregation the truth. Osteen is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It is one thing for baby Christians not to know the anathema of a false gospel proclaiming a false Christ, but it is unacceptable, yea wicked as the Devil himself for a preacher or pastor to say he doesn't know. Talk about the blind leading the blind. Don Diehl

Osteen believes Mormons are Christians

Anyone can say Christ is their savior. That is not how to judge if someone is a true Christian. Ask anyone in any cult that claims to be Christian and they will say the same thing.

Teacher

James tells us that a teacher will be held to a higher standard. Paul talks about false teachers that tickel peoples, tell them what they want to hear, Paul actually curses such people. Mr. Osteen needs to read 2tim.2:15

The real tragedy is...
Posted On: 01/03/08 03:10:17 AM Age 22, SC
It's more of a tragedy that he has admittedly not "really studied them or thought about them. And you know, I just try to let God be the judge of that. I mean, I don't know." He's just good at making people feel good about themselves in a "Christian way"...Ahem, so I guess the salt and light is just for food. It's as if he is endorsing ignorance and apathy to important tenets in the Christian worldview. Ugh, this guy gets on my nerves worse than people playing the Katrina tragedy card.

I am astounded
Posted On: 01/02/08 11:06:17 PM Age 41, TX
As a new believer and someone who has not only watched Joel Osteen's broadcast numerous times but has also visited Lakewood Church on occasion, I was astounded by his lack of honor to my Father in heaven, especially after reading the transcript of his interview with Chris Matthews on Fox News. During the entire interview, Joel referenced God maybe four times and Jesus was referenced twice. Other than that, his answers to questions were "I this...you know...I that...you know". I wonder if Joel has a personal relationship with the Father since he never references Him in endearing terms (Romans 8:15). He certainly does not study to show himself approved of God because he only uses one scripture during his broadcasts. He didn't use any during the interview!! The most egregious response was the fact that Joel did not know why so many people watched his broadcast. He gave, what I believe was a horrible response, "I don't know." The fact that so many people, including myself, are drawn into his web of deceit is downright scary. And his response that Mitt Romney is a Christian was beyond belief. This coming from a man "pastoring" 50,000 people? I read the information provided in the article about John Smith's "prophecies". If it wasn't for the fact that millions of people buy into this man-made religion, Mr. Smith's theories would be laughable. But the sad thing is, if Christians like you and me don't continue to be salt and light to this sick, dying, world, we will be swept away into Hell along with it, "and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). I sincerely pray that Joel, Mitt, and their myriad of followers will awaken from their coma and embrace the One, True, Holy God through his Son Jesus Christ. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Tim. 2:15).

It’s high time
Posted On: 01/02/08 04:51:03 PM Age 38, CA
It’s high time that Godly discerning men and woman standup and call these pretenders out on the carpet. Mr. Osteen is not a Pastor for the Lord Jesus Christ. He preaches a man centered gospel and is leading thousands to a counterfeit gospel. I will be praying for Mr. Osteen’s salvation. Respectfully, Steve San Diego

Osteen

When Osteen said he believed Romney was a Christian (Mormon), that he was a fine man, that right there told me that Osteen believes works save. He has no idea what the scripture says about anything. He didn't mention the trinity. How grieved God must be, seeing his own children taking in all this guff. Osteen said talking about sin is his ultimate goal, not his focus. For myself, I would love to be exhorted to walk with God, and encouraged, but Osteen is talking to millions of lost people. He is telling them they're alright, and kind of just flipping God a glance and a wink. Not good at all!!
