Promise with me all of you that this president, Mike Huckabee, we will "stay on like white on rice." The Bush family has been an utter disappointment to me, except that he managed not to give away the farm en-toto. So promise me Janet, and all who meander this forum, that we shall hold this man true to his word and hold his feet to the fire if he does not. PROMISE ME WE SHALL NOT WAVER IN OUR DUTY TO DO DUE DILIGENCE IN THIS ENDEAVOR. All say "Aye" or "Nay" with your name. I, for one, say "AYE!"

Janet is like so many Christian Republicans. She wants "us" to get in power so that we can use the power or government for good. Why is it right for us to wield that power and not for others if they get control? She doesn't like Ron Paul because he wants to get government out of our lives. Abortion is one such issue. Check out what he really thinks about the issue. http://www.ontheissues.org/TX/Ron_Paul_Abortion.htm
Huckabee is saying the same kinds of things that Carter, Reagan and both Bushes said. Has abortion gotten eliminated under our "Christian" president? Why would we expect another politician to do any differently? You can look at Ron Paul's voting record for his career. He's been doing and saying the same things for all of it. And there really are other issues besides abortion, awful as it is. Again I ask, did Huckabee eliminate abortion in Arkansas? No, because the federal government wouldn't let him. Here's what Ron Paul had to say about that very problem. "I'm surprised that I don't have more co-sponsors for my Sanctity of Life Act. It removes the jurisdiction from the federal courts & allows the states to pass protection to the unborn. Instead of waiting years for a Constitutional Amendment, this would happen immediately, by majority vote in the Congress and a president's signature. It's a much easier way to accomplish this, by following what our Constitution directs us. Instead of new laws, let's just use what we have & pass this type of legislation." In other words, keep the federal government out of what isn't constitutionally it's business. Can Huckabee make the same claim?

Huckabee had my vote until I found out about three things:
1) His stances on illegal immigration are worse than the liberals' stances. These are not lies and slanders toward him at all, either, it's just the unfortunate truth. He supported giving illegal immigrants scholarships and in-state tuition to public schools.
2) His recent refusal to recant comments about AIDS victims needing to be "corralled" together and locked away. It's fine that he said it in 1992, I understand that, but to not recant them now? Don't think so.
3) Most people I've talked to in Arkansas can't stand this guy. They say he raised taxes on them, and was very disconnected to the wishes of the people of the state.
Just because someone's a Christian doesn't mean they're fit to lead the country. I'm a Christian, Mrs. Folger is a Christian... but I don't think I'd vote for either one of us based solely on that. My vote is shifting back to John Edwards.

- Theology Degree or Not?!
| Posted On: 12/14/07 11:06:52 PM | | Age 56, NE | Here's some more troubling information about Huckabee. He keeps claiming to have a degree in theology when he clearly does not. What would we say about Hillary if she kept making claims which were untrue. Doesn't help his credibility at all. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59222 Click here to reply to this post

Nominate Huckabee. That way it will be so simple to defeat the Republicans. People are sick and tired of religious nuts in the White House after the Schiavo thing. He would lose big. Then Roe v. Wade will be codified in law and you woman haters will be powerless to stop women from obtaining abortions. Your little movement will die a quick death and people will forget the evil you committed. You are wrong on this issue and the people know it. If the race is over abortion you lose.

- THE POT CALLS THE KETTLE BLACK
| Posted On: 12/17/07 12:56:32 PM | | Age 64, OH | You accuse people of hate and hate for women. but your post is the one filled with hate and invalid reasoning. You claim to love women but you are in favor of killing women at birth. You claim the majority of the people are for abortion but this is simply NOT TRUE. the majority of people are not for abortion on demand. You are against the simple education of showing people what abortion looks like. I would be in favor of a full showing of both sides on national TV. this would include of course both sides and would also include the showing of the abortion of a actual female baby fighting for it's little life. when any human being with a heart saw how hard these poor little innocent girls fight for just the right to live; I have no doubt that abortion would be struck down so quick that it would surprise the prolife group. Why is a disproportionate number of abortions performed on African Americans? Why are Planned Parenthood facilities always located in poor neighborhoods with prominant minority populations? If women have a legal right to an abortion, why do they not have the right to be informed of the risks of and alternatives to abortion? Who determinines when life begins AND ends? How do you define "evil?" Click here to reply to this post

In the primaries I would certainly vote for Huckabee over Giuliani and would certainly vote for Huckabee over Hillary. But even if you get six BILLION people to endorse Huckabee; Jesus Christ and one other person would be a majority if they were against him. While I hope for Mike Huckabee to get elected over most of those running; I also realize that this nation will need a lot more than Mike Huckabee to save it from destruction. The people who are the church in this nation needs to truly humble themselves before The Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to reveal their sin to them so that they can confess it and repent of it. Unless this happens SOON this nation will be destroyed. Lou

I Can See the Finish Line

If Mike Huckabee were to be elected President, he would be just another in a long line of presidents starting with FDR, that have promoted and supported an aggressive, imperialistic, and often violent foreign policy, that has done nothing to protect Americans. On the contrary, such policies have brought death to millions of people around the world, including our own citizens. Huckabee will continue to support the military industrial economy that thrives on permanent war. The exscuses for this perpetual war have run the gamut from Nazism, Cold War, to the most recent concoctions of War on Terror and Islamofascism: all propaganda techniques to instill fear among the populace to cause popular support for violence and death. This is hardly pro life. As far as I know, Huckabee intends to continue a fraudulent fractional reserve monetary policy, which is now proving itself to hardly be in the best interests of the average citizen. He recently addressed a conference of Baptist ministers, making a statement that "we need to take America back for Christ." That sounds like something that would come from the camp of Rick Warren or Dominionist theology. If Huckabee wants to win souls to Christ, then he should go back to his Baptist pulpit and preach pro Life (capital L)as in Jesus Christ. George Cancilla

- I Can See The Finish Line!
| Posted On: 12/13/07 07:39:44 AM | | Age 51, FL | I agree with you, George Cancilla. Huckabee is only saying what he believes the Christians want to hear in order to get their endorsement much the same way Bush did. And then, he will continue to support those who are pushing the world government and destroying our Constitution as well as our Country. He was even interviewed by the CFR. Huckabee had a terrible fiscal policy, let a rapist out of jail to continue to rape and murder women, and supported illegal immigration when he was Governor. Don't listen to the words, look at his past behavior and record. His walk does not match his talk. Click here to reply to this post

As Christians, we need to support the candidate who stands for God's laws, regardless of whether we feel he can win or not. Otherwise, we are compromising, and then, we get exactly what we deserve. Just think, if we all support Mike Huckabee and tell our friends about him, just as has been happening, the media will pay attention and start focusing on him (as they now are doing) and then he will have a chance to win. Go to his website and read what he believes about the issues, and then contribute to his campaign and tell your friends. We must not compromise when it comes to life (for the unborn and aged), freedom of speech and religion, and believe me , we will lose these rights if we don't get on board with a candidate who will stand up for them.

Janet, I thank you for all of your hard work for so long in the pro-life cause.
And thank you for being one of those leaders with the courage and vision to back Gov. Huckabee from the start.
Blessings!
