Whose truth?
Posted On: 12/13/07 12:38:40 PM Age 47, MO
Don't you know the gospel is all about love? Love is patient, love is kind, love never defends, love never confronts, love is situational, love never hurts others ego, love assumes the best, and love keeps God as sovereign and everything else as pawns. Why defend, share, or listen to the Holy Spirit when God is I AM and we are clay? The problem is that most Christians have never remerged from the water a new creation IN CHRIST but are still submerged. Traditional church theology has taught hyper Calvinism or extreme Arminianism. Both err in their extremes, one makes people as pawns and secure in their apathy the other makes people worship their view of love as their Lord. We need to again preach Christ, God's nature, and KEEPING the faith, instead of all the fluff stuff. Just a thought. John

Accommodation or Confrontation

Accommodation or Confrontation by Israel Wayne An excellent article by Mr. Wayne. The bible warns us about deception over and over again. Do you suppose Accommodation is part of this deception? If you say anything against the status quo you are said to be judgmental. How Wash! Discernment is not being judgmental. The Bible (God’s word) is the standard by which we measure everything or at least it should be. Discerning how things measure is not passing judgment. The Church, and the world is about to go through judgment by GOD. A judge passes sentences. A perfect Judge passes out perfect judgments, and our Lord is a perfect judge. Stand ready, fast and pray, because sin is about to be exposed, and repenting will take place in the Church so Christ can come back to a pure and holy Church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Eph 5:27 He did this to present her to Himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. Jerry

  1. Jesus is the Word

Jerry: I like your heart but if you don't mind I would like to take issue with one small but crucial error. You said: "The Bible (God’s word) is the standard by which we measure everything or at least it should be." The intent of your statement is correct because you wish to use an absolute standard. However, the truth is that scripture is not our standard but it is Christ. Christ is the Word, the truth giver, the great I AM. WE need to look to Christ for our strength, our truth, our mercy, and our justice. Scripture can be and is taken out of context often. Seek God! John

meet Jesus in the Furnace

Great article and insight. I have been saying for years, the NUMBER One problem today with Christians is, there fear to confront. NOthing will get done, unless your willing to be thrown in the furnace. But that idea today is being cast down, as being unloving, while what they really mean is, NO WAY, i dont want problems,I dont want to argue, its not GODLY, what they need to admit is, they dont want to argue, for fear of not being liked or accepted. IF they would stop being so afraid of offending and do what JESUS told them to do, then people would really be getting saved today, and we would not have the HERETICAL term being USED< CARNAL CHRISTIAN. AMEN!

MEET JESUS IN THE FURNACE
Posted On: 12/11/07 12:18:29 PM Age 64, OH
Yes dear brother we should do as Jesus Christ did. He did not conform to make "peace" such as NOT healing on the sabbath. But when we do conform our actions to be like His actions we can know two things will happen. We will be treated like he was treated and will be thrown into the fiery furnace the same as the three in Daniel. But do not lose heart dear friends who long to be like our Lord. When the three had been thrown into the fire, so hot it killed the soldiers who obeyed the king and threw them in; 24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, "Weren't there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?" They replied, "Certainly, O king." 25 He said, "Look! I see FOUR MEN walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the god". Nebu was on the right track for it was The Son of God that the three met in the furnace.-- So do not conform to this world or this church but conform to the commands of our Lord and be made like Him. You will be thrown into the furnace but you will walk and talk with Him in the furnace. You will come out with not one hair on your head harmed. Your covering will not be burnt. And the one who threw you into the fire might say as Nebu did, their God is God. Lou
