What needs to happen is for Congress to pass the Life of Conception Act declaring that life begins at conception and thereby making all fetuses citizens of the United States and therefore protected by the 14th Amendment.
Roe V.Wade itself declares it is only making its decision assuming that life does not begin at conception. And declares that if it is ever determined that life does begin at conception, Roe v. Wade should collapse as the fetuses would then be protected as citizens under the 14th Amendment.
Roe V. Wade was a terrible judicial decision on so many levels. But it did outline that itself should collapse if life begins at conception.
Now in this day and age, it is a medical certainty that life begins at conception. Therefore, it is only logical, rational, moral, and necessary for Congress to declare life at conception and Roe V. Wade collapses and abortion outlawed because it is the murder of US citizens.

Mrs. Folger, you may say that we need "unity," but you are indeed asking for compromise. For me to support Gov. Huckabee, I would be required to compromise. I cannot support someone who was caught trying to steal (claiming tens of thousand dollars' worth of furniture, a la the Clintons); I cannot support someone who supports socialized health care for ANY group; I cannot support someone who has raised taxes on the people of his state--the much-beleaguered Arkansas, already in shambles after the Clintons--and at the same time raised spending! Gov. Huckabee supported the release of Wayne Dumond, a convicted rapist who used his newfound freedom to rape again. And, finally, he is fool enough to fall in line with the enviro-scaremongers. He may have decent values on life and family issues, but he's no conservative. When you ask me to support Gov. Huckabee, you are asking me to compromise. You can support him if you wish, but I won't. Sorry.--Mrs. Pilgrim

I can not stand for the mandated testing requirements he placed on homeschoolers, for the beuracratic Smart Start program he created for the schools in Arkansas, for the attempts at smoking bans, at food regulations, or his support of the S-CHIP and his initiation of a similar program in Arkansas, or anything of that sort.
I am with Congressman Duncan Hunter. Michael Reagan said he is "everything conservatives want." He has never flip-flopped on a single issue. He supports a constitutional amendment to define life at conception, and has written a bill to do so several times as mentioned in this column.
Hunter has been the most effective candidate on securing our borders. He had a fence built in San Diego, which tremendously stopped crime in San Diego, including illegal drug and human trafficking, and authored the bill for an 854 mile double border fence with border patrol in between, with a climb-proof barrier, which was signed into law. Duncan Hunter says that border security is national security.
He will bring back high-paying jobs to our country which we lost because of bad trade deals with Red China and the rest of the world and cheating by Red China.
While Duncan Hunter voted No on Most Favored Trade Status for Red China, he voted Yay for trade with Australia, because it was in our county's best interests. Duncan Hunter was chairman of the Armed Services Committee (when the Republicans had the majority), gave us ABS deployed in Alaska, and Hunter built up the defense that Bill Clinton tore down, and got equipment and weapons to protect our troops, and our country, Hunter served with the Army Rangers in Viet Nam, won a medal, and his son did two tour in Iraq, including Fallujah, and is now doing a third tour in Afghanistan.
Once when the ACLU threatened a veteran's memorial because it displayed a crucifix, Duncan Hunter fought to protect it. Duncan Hunter wrote and passed the Parents' Empowerment Act that allowed parents to sue organizations that display pornographic material in ways easily accessible to children. Duncan Hunter fought hard so that students would be allowed to pray in public schools (just as Congress is allowed to), and is strongly pro-life (authored the personhood-at-conception bill; attended the pro-life march in D.C., etc.). He also supports a Constitutional Amendment to protect marriage.
Duncan Hunter is the only candidate that has a conservative enough record to be successful in the upcoming election. Mike Huckabee has supported open border policies, the S-CHIP and similar programs he initiated in Arkansas, increased funding to public schools, federal funding for alternative fuel sources, and has even stated that he has "great respect for the Clintons." Not to mention the corruption charges that have been filed against him. Fred Thompson is against a Constitutional amendment for the unborn, has supported minimum wage increases, affirmative action, and has a similar voting record as John McCain on Immigration. Duncan Hunter is the conservative choice, and as Michael Reagan has said, 'everything conservatives want.' He has perfect ratings from the NRA, the National Right to Life, Americans for Better Immigration, the Eagle Forum, and Concerned Women For America.

It is a sad state of affairs indeed, when we have to make a political definition of marriage as an institution between one man and one woman. Most states have laws against sodomy, or at least they used to. Murder is illegal in every state. People still murder people, and homosexuals still have affairs with each other. They may escape earthly consequences, but they will not escape God's judgment. Same sex marriages should be struck down on the basis that such an arrangement would automatically constitute sodomy. What needs to be gotten rid of are the lawyers who twist and manipulate the existing laws to the self serving ends of their clients. Political law needs to be replaced with God's common law. If this country can't be unified under God's common law, then this country is going to find itself unified under God's judgment similar to Sodom and Gomorrah. George Cancilla

The Law of the Land is not in the Declaration of Independce, but the Constitution. As long as abortion is viewed as a medical procedure, and not the killing of an unborn baby, the Constitution is silent on the issue, and therefore has no jurisdiction over the issue. At this point, the 10th Ammendment applies, and the issue of abortion is, indeed, to be determined by the individual states.
Because of this, we in the Pro-Life movement need to educate people to see that the unborn baby is a living citizen of the United States, and as such, is under the protection of the Law. Until we can convince our lawmakers to do that, we are indeed limited by the Law. You do not fix bad laws with more bad laws.

If the unborn is a person, then abortion is murder. If the unborn is not, then abortion is only a medical procedure--a very dangerous, usually damaging, sometimes fatal procedure, but just a procedure. This is pure and simple reasoning. All other matters are red herrings thrown up by people who don't want to deal with reality, and we should stop quibbling over irrelevancies.--Mrs. Pilgrim Click here to reply to this post
