I knew that we were well into the age of apostasy. I knew that the emergent church was off. However, I was shocked to see how far off it is. From that interview, it sounds to me as though we have another cult on our hands, every bit as bad as JW and Mormon.......and maybe even more dangerous, if it is accepted as Christian by people who should know better. Thank you for that interview.

It's good to know that there is still a remnant of God's people in the abyss of compromise that is the "reverends" of this new age.
People actually go to this guy's church? Amazing.

Ok guys here's the deal.
When asked a straight question, Doug Pagitt could not simply give a clear and concise answer.
He was backtracking, dancing around the questions, and simply would not answer the question clearly. He came across as very arrogant, rude, and snobbish.
Am I right or wrong?

Just a comment on your transcription of this dialogue. I've never seen anyone include all the "hmm's" and "uhh's" the way you have here. Obviously it's to present Pagitt as a confused person who is unsure of himself and to make him look bad. Transcriptions are not done this way - not with every one recorded the way you have. //You have your questions ready to go, you are the experienced radio voice - Pagitt doesn't know what's coming and where you're going - it's actually natural to stutter somewhat on live radio, not used to being on the air and having to constantly react to the questions coming from all over the place. But admit it- you did it this way to make him look confused (yes I know your response - I didn't have to do that to show he was confused -THEN WHY DID YOU DO IT?)//I also wish you would include a transcript of the commercials you had on the next day mocking and making fun of Pagitt and this serious topic - all for the laughs and giggles of your Christian audience. Real Biblical.

Doug is so far off base it's not even funny.
It's clear that he don't believe the bible or or even the quotes of Jesus himself. So why does he even bother trying to quote it to others?
What bothers me is that other people (if they can read for themselves) even listens to him.

Actually if you read the transcripirts of Rush Limbaugh they include all the ahhs' and uhms. So it is not unheard of. And if you are a leader of a movement and and you take questions from anybody speaking to your beliefs you should not have too much difficulty responding. Even if you have to restat a hostile question. Mr. Pagitt couldn't do that. He couldn't even respond to his own words. Todd asked a queston about a recreated heaven and earth. Mr Pagitt then said I didn't say that. clearly he did. Mr Pagitt clearly comes from the New Age mindset. New Ager don't think, they feel.

As a Pastor Doug Pagitt is used to speaking to others about his faith. The umms and ahhs indicate to me that he does not have a real concise reason why he believes what he does, he just likes certain notions and feel good ideas. (No one need fear eternal judgement) We are not talking about a man on the street unused to speaking or preaching. For me, the clincher was that he does not really believe in the physical world. Or the words of God and Christ when they talk about heaven being a physical place not a particular state of mind or awareness. His idea of heaven and judgement is that we will all be "aware" of God and our mind will be in agreement with God. It negates a physical body and a physical place. Christ himself was given a new body. Doug speaks of souls and consciousness as if reality is all in the mind, and that heaven is attainable here on Earth as we "get others to get involved in Gods work". He is so far removed from Biblical principles and the revelation of Christ himself its scary.
