Heretic! He makes the Bible say what he wants it to say rather than read it for what it is, THE TRUTH!

I'm going to try one sentence although it's tough. I'm not going to agree or disagree with the author. I simply am looking for the answer to this question: What religion is God? We need to be what He is!!

Heretic? Without a doubt. Anyone who believes all roads lead to Heaven is a heretic.

He's absolutely without a doubt, a heretic. Is he the false prophet that precedes the Antichrist? Food for thought...

No doubt in my mind, a heretic. At the end he said he would preach at the funeral of a friend who was Muslim, and he said he would offer hope by faith through Jesus Christ. People can say they have faith in Christ, but it actually has to mean something. From everything that he said prior to that statement it was obvious that he had no faith in Christ. If you ever get to talk to him again, ask him this question, "Why did Jesus have to die?" I am pretty sure that he will give some kind of mushy answer that will be further proof that he is a heretic. Thanks for sharing your interview with him to the world. We all need to know what we believe!

Doug Pagitt, while claiming to be a Christian Pastor, is espousing a doctrine that basically says the bible a)can not be known for sure, or b)it cannot be trusted to convey to us God's absolute truth. Either way it is heresy.

Draw the circle small enough with me on the inside and identification of heretics is easy, simple and hateful.

Don't deal with the issues raised but attack the messenger and you'll always be able to feel vindicated. Did you bother to hear what the man believes? If so, was it okay with you and your view of what the Bible says?

If what DP espouses is heresy, is it hateful to be concerned and open about a person's eternal state? Or is it rather the most loving (although painful) thing someone can do? I pray that all may come to repentance and trust in Jesus Christ.

Close. The circle is drawn with Jesus on the inside, not me (unless of course, I'm with Him).

I think Doug's view are clearly aberant, unbiblical, and in error. Are they heretical? I'm not sure. He is clearly a universalist who believes everyone will ultimately be "saved." If he thinks the basis for that salvation is the atoning work of Jesus on the cross applied to everyone, including non-believers, that is wrong, but maybe not heretical. If he has another reason for his view, such as "no one deserves Hell," then I think it may fall in the heresy catergory. It was very sad to listen to this.

Heretic! You can't deny such a large portion of God's Word, and what Jesus taught and still be a child of God. If, as we believe, Scripture is inerrant and the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God, we can't just say, "Oh, He'll make allowances for me!" The Word states that our God is "a consuming fire" and not a Divine "flower child" preaching "peace and love" and denying His Holiness.
