Why is it deemed ok to offend Christians by prohibiting any mention of the Lord. This is just nonsensical!
This is just the beginning of a slide towards an atheistic totalitarian society.

How can this be possible? Can one person truly have the right change things like that? I am not familiar with the position of "Architect of the Capitol", but surely it would not grant the power to chage that certificate on his own whim.
According to the article, the Architect said that because reference to God and the Lord may offend some Americans he prohibits them from being placed on official documents. The last time I checked democracy is the kind of goverment that allows the people to rule themselves. That being said the majority rules. So in effect, the "some Americans" that would be offended don't really matter in a democracy.
As I understand it the certificate was not a public document, it was a personal note to the veteran. What if he is a christian, and what if he is offended by the lack of refference to God? So many things don't fit together when it gets down to it. If this article is true and the Architect really said what it says he says. Then he not only contridicts himself, but he also goes against democracy.

Obviously Christians need to continue to be a voice to government as in this case. American consitutional history is an inspirational triumph and a wonderful Christian testimony to the world.If this Government official wishes to remove God The Lord etc from official documentation; he is utterly ridiculous.Maybe he should attempt to purge the English language for the same crazy reasons.Perhaps he should recall all the dollar bills in current circulation & destroy them because of the 'offensive'; IN GOD WE TRUST.Taking his philosophy to extremes to illustrate how foolish it really is.

Congratulations to Marilyn Musgrave for:
1. recognizing people who gave so much so we could have the many freedoms we enjoy in the USA and Canada today.
2. for standing up to a bureaucrat who has usurped his authority by prohibiting references to God and Lord. This individual
has forgotten completely that thousands of individuals before him in much more powerful government positions, with greater wisdom and understanding, thought God and our Lord were signifcantly important enough to honour Him by having the motto "In God We Trust" inscribed on government buildings and your currency.

This is the absolutely blasphemus and un-American. What I want to know is this:
If this person had no authoritative orders to do such a thing how is it that his order will stand? What is being done about it and what might we who love our God and country do?
I am, and I know many millions more who would be angered and offended by the actions of any government official who decided to do such a thing.
Our country seems to be getting more and more of a communist flavor every day.

I read the articles cited but I did not see where 'U.S. Congressmen are now being prohibited from using references to God in official correspondence from the Capitol building including, "under God" in the pledge, "God bless you," or "in the year of our Lord, 2007." ' I only saw where the Capitol Architect was removing references to God from flag certificates. While I disagree with that action, it appears that Mr. Barton is attempting to sensationalize an isolated action to achieve maximal effect. Perhaps he has more information than he shared. If not, I think that we hurt our cause when we fail to be totally accurate in our writings and can cause others to look foolish when they quote inaccuate information.

Why doesn't our "Christian" President do something about this ? Probably because as he now says, we all pray to the same god, so I suppose there's no reason to mention Him.

Not only is this man not elected, but he's also just the Deputy! There's nothing in his job description that includes censorship--go to the website for Architect of the Capitol. What concerns me most is that he IS responsible for all the murals, frescoes, and statues that show our Judeo-Christian heritage. If he feels they may offend someone, will he remove them as well?????
