I think the author does not understand post-modernism and doesn't effectively answer his own question as a result. It seems that fear of the new and unknown drive his rejection of all things different. The church was born in a pre-modern era and therefore does not need modernism in order to preach the gospel effectively and therefore the post modern leanings of our culture can be seen as a new opportunity for the church to reach the lost with the only hope of salvation - the gospel of Jesus.
