Very good article. Holy God, sinful man...many seem to have a difficult time with realizing this.

no issue with the article, one issue with saying that David said we are conceived in sin. that is false teaching. no where does the word say that. that was taken out of contex. Looking closer, one will find DAVID was repenting there and what he meant ( reading before this) is that he felt like such a low down sinner, he had to have been conceived in sin. Procreation between a husband and wife, is not a sin. many use this scripture wrong, this is not to be taken LITERALLY, but that doesnt stop people they still do. BEING conceived in marriage isnt a sin ok. About time to stop misusing that verse.

Alas, methinks thou hast erred in thy judgment. Indeed, in the full context of this Psalm, David was lamenting his sinful state, repenting, and seeking the Lord's mercy and cleansing of his sins. However, I fail to see where the author of this article makes any implication that procreation between a husband and wife is sinful. Quoting the author: "It also reveals that children have a sinful nature. David said, ‘Surely I was sinful from birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.’ (Ps. 51:5)". The author is merely speaking of the "sin nature" with which we were/are all born. This "sin nature" is the result of the curse which God placed on all creation as a result of Adam's original sin (Gen. 3:17). Even when we examine the KJV version,"Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.", we can see that David was speaking of the innate "sin nature" of his mother, not of the God ordained relationship between his parents as husband and wife. I agree with Wayne 100% because Wayne has expressed the truth of the Christian life. Many times people have told me, "I just want to be a better Christian." If anyone were able to become a "better me" then Jesus would not have needed to die on the cross. He never came to make us better. We were already dead in our trespasses. You can't make dead folks "better"; you have to give them life from outside themselves... When He comes in and takes up residence, we live the Vine Life, not working at The Better Me Life. Our life is now "the life I live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me." HE IS our life and we abide in Him. We walk in 1 John 1:9 and live in relationship with Him, not working at a program to "shine us up" and "make us better."

MY SON IS YOUR FATHER

But you are not my grandson you are my brother. The Lord told me when I was 40 I was going to have another son and he would be a child late in life and a child of promise, so name him Isaac. Hope you got a good laugh out of that. This article shows real insight and wisdom form the Holy Spirit. Thanks so much for writing it. keep up the good work. Lou

Yes, I was thumbing thru a CBD catalog the other day and paused to contemplate when I noticed that very book. It is exactly as you say, these people preach idolatry of self. They preach Christianity as a venieer to be used as an excuse for all sorts of justifications. With the right Christianity we can seer our consciences about all sorts of sin because Jesus- he understands- he was a man just like us! Therefore it's ok to be gay, rich, addicted, selfish, etc. After all, Jesus died for ourselves because He loves us and wants us to have a blessed life. He wants a "Better You" for you! How sad it is that Americans trust their government and their churches for their protection and their salvation. We are ignorantly complacent, and that mean cousin of selfish pride will be our greatest doom. John
