I believe we are observing the result of fifty years of public school brainwashing. Until we get serious about taking responsibility for our childrens education (I strongly advocate home-schooling) the deterioration will continue.

I'm in agreement with this article. I don't think that most Christians have a Biblical worldview. I believe this because even "respected Christians" in my church believe it's okay to be homosexual or have an abortion because it's "the women's choice." The woman had a choice before she had sex. I have had discussions with family members about how to get to heaven. They think that good people will go to heaven and I tell them not unless they know Christ. They claim to be Christians.
I have no idea how we can change this.

Perhaps the 10% of Christians who said they believe in REINCARNATION thought the question was about believing in RESURRECTION. I don't know how the question is worded, but I have met Christians who believe that immediately upon death they will be resurrected IN THE FLESH. I know the Bible doesn't say that, but Flesh Resurrection is widely taught and believed. If people have NO familiarity with the hindu religion or the concept of reincarnation believed by hindus,it is possible that they answered without really understanding the question.
It is somewhat surprising that only 29% believed in the possibility of communicating with the dead! Saul communicated with the ghost of Samuel, so there is a biblical example. In addition, there is a commandment NOT TO ATTEMPT TO COMMUNICATE WITH SPIRITS: and why would we be commanded not to communicate with Spirits unless it were possible to do so. I understand that we may THINK we are communicating with the dead when the contact is actually a Demon or one of Satan's Minions. But the examples in the Bible and the commandment Not to do so certainly imply that communication with the dead is possible. If people read their Bibles the number should be much higher than 29%.

We need to humble ourselves in numerous ways. Although their zeal is misplaced and involves self-deception, we have Muslims on campus here that show much more zeal for their faith than most Christians. The birth rate of Muslims will conquer as much as any terrorism; while Christians (aside from a few homeschoolers, in my experience) content themselves with 1-3 children, many Muslim families relegate the family life to the wife and support her to the maximum in having and raising numerous children (women are not required to attend mosque, for example, because it is assumed their time is needed at home).
Secondly, I wish pastors would do a sermon-reality-outcome-check and actually determine how much of their sermon is remembered on Wednesday by most of their congregation. And then - how much of it has been applicable in the personal spiritual development of their members. It's not like we don't have email where they could send out emails and check on this sort of thing and start expecting their members to pay attention.
Thirdly, I remain shocked at how many ostensibly Christian couples end up divorced when, of all things, it ought to be patently clear that God hates divorce. As a father of seven and married for 26+ years, I know it's often not easy! But we have so-called marriage experts that rake in thousands of dollars a day for seminars, seminars that don't even mention Scripture once or do anything to tie research into Scripture. And there is little proof that such seminars do any good, especially relative to their cost. There are some who do, but it seems to me that the more famous the speakers in terms of secular media attention, the less likely they are to base their principles on Scripture.
We have some people trying to answer Islam but Islam (where they get their money for this I don't know) has its own websites that pick apart the Christian authors like crazy. We have got to do a better apologetic or they will eat us alive in the debate.
We complain about Muslims gloating over 9/11 but I hear too many Christians not feeling all too bad about the prisoner abuses at Abu Ghraib and other places (to start with, abuse is illegal in international and U.S. law and Army Regulations; secondly, it seldom produces reliable intellligence; but it certainly does not reflect the kind of love that is needed to show Christ to Muslim sinners in need of a vital relationship with the one true God).
Solutions? Sure, I have a few.
