If a person does NOT want to walk, talk, and have a living intimate relationship with God as the Holy Spirit in this life right now, why would they have any desire to go to heaven where He is all there is. Lou

Again, I'm not seeing what your issue is with the article; it agrees with everything that you're saying.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS JESUS
Posted On: 06/08/07 05:50:13 AM Age 63, OH
The Holy Spirit is NOT a thing but a person. The Holy Spirit is the Lord Jesus Christ in the Spirit. If you do not believe me then believe the Bible. Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.--- The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ and anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ is not His.--- Romans 8:10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.--- This tells us that it is Christ that is IN us. --- Philippians 1:19 Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ,--- It is the Spirit of Jesus Christ who is in us --- Philippians 2:1 [ Imitating Christ's Humility ] If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,--- It is Christ that we are united with ---Philippians 4:23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.---It is the Lord Jesus Christ who is with our spirit --- 1 Peter 1:11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.--- It is the Spirit of Christ that is in us --- 1 John 5:6 This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.--- The Holy Spirit is the Truth for He is the same person as the Lord Jesus who is the Truth. God became a man so we would not be afraid to turn to Him. We do not have to be afraid of the Holy Spirit for He is the same Jesus Christ who shed His blood for us. Jesus calls the Holy Spirit The Counselor and the Holy Spirit calls Jesus the Counselor in Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, [a] Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Lou

The article agrees with your position. Again, the Holy Spirit is not some weird, mystical force; He’s part of the triune nature of God.

Have you ever clicked the mouse and wished you could have it back. I was aware that i forgot to thank Shane for his good article. Thanks for your response, I prefer to use the same word Jesus did and say the Holy Spirit is part of the One and Only God Almighty instead of Triune but have no problem with those that do as long as they believe in One God and not three like some do. I could not agree more with the author. Thank you, Sir, for articulating this truth so well. When you asserted that most churches are basically held together by social activity rather than the Work of the Holy Spirit I felt a burning in my chest. Very powerful.

I agree with this writer. When I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, my walk with God was strengthened 1000%! The Holy Spirit intercedes for me when I don't even know how or what to pray, but only know that I have a need. During the year before their Dad died, six of my children had a large surge in their zeal for the Lord and His presence. They were all baptized in the Holy Spirit and He gave them the strength they needed to go through the tragic loss of my husband. We were ALL very close to him, but the Holy Spirit has filled in all of our voids and continually comforts and guides us. How can the church think it can survive in the flesh? We ALL need the Spirit of God!

Amen! I hope that in trials I will see in my children the same perseverance and strength in the Spirit as your children experienced. Sarah, mom to four girls ages four and younger

I believe the greatest need today is a cry to the church in america to repent and to obey the Lord Jesus. And it begins with me!

Excellent! Too often people believe that the Holy Spirit is obsolete now- the Bible was canonized, we're not the first century church, we no longer need HS. Others say His purpose is ONLY for Salvation, and then after that....? I praise my Lord that He not only sent me a comforter, but one who gives me strength and courage to be obedient to Him and live a life of grace and purpose, pursing His will and direction. This is a great article. I daily pray the direction of the Holy Spirit. Sin comes when I don't wait on Him, or I let my "self" take charge in any given situation. Thanks for a great view Mr. Idleman.
