Thanks to the environmentalists, we cannot even depend on our own country for oil and must import a large amount from elsewhere; how is it that environmentalists stand by shushed to let a road eight football fields wide destroy such a vast land area through the U.S.? I heard someone ask this question on a popular radio talk show? Do you really believe they don't know about it? Where is the uproar that they usually cause?

Kerby; I have contacted all of my elected representatives in Washington about this very issue. The response I have gotten amounts to; nothing from two of them and a letter from the other that did not address the issue! So now what? Is there someone else in Washington that cares about this?

Since this trans-Texas highway must go through several large cities, I can't see it costing just the farmers and ranchers. It would upgrade that "eminent domain" to include thousands of businesses in our metro areas.
This idea of an American union is interesting except that it would need to have our Constitution - the basis for our democratic system - severely amended or scrapped. This cannot happen. If our sovereign nation must fold to merge with these other countries, we will be on the way to fulfilling prophecy of a one world government. Even so, come Lord Jesus.
Why wasn't this presented to the American people before signing on to it? The semi-secrecy is puzzling.
The only way I can see it working is with each country to maintain its own government or to stir up an even hotter debate, to annex these nations into the United States.
Laughable. In Texas, this would prove unpopular since the Canadian provinces would put Texas further down the rung as a smaller and smaller state. But it would solve our seemingly unanswerable problem of Mexican illegal immigration.
All-in-all, the public won't even consider it....if we get to vote on it. If?

What is our leader thinking? Our military is everywhere but where it needs to be. It needs to be here! If people think illegal immigration is bad now wait for this to come to pass. Again I ask "What is our leader thinking?" The one world government is coming fast and he is leading the way. Does he realize this or not? Thanks.

Were those just rhetorical questions? If not, the answers are that he clearly does realize what he's doing, and what is he thinking--personal enrichment by allowing global big business to do all sorts of evil while bypassing accountability to sovereign nations and citizens.

I actually think the idea is one of worth and value. Think of it this way;
1. Mexico has a smaller southern border to protect and defend against intruders. Canada has no northern border.
2. By combining the three countries into one, immigration would become a moot issue at least from Mexico. I'm sure there are some Canadians who would like to come here but the number is minimal.
3. The standard of living for practically every person in the newly formed country would increase with a new found source of untapped labor, markets and natural resources.
4. Everything in the United States already has three languages printed on it already. Why can't you read the writing on the wall?
5. Mexicans and Canadians have much to offer a united north American continent. Hard working and faithful to the south, sturdy and inteligent people to the north.
I can't understand why you are making a big deal out of something that really has no negative effect on your faith. Believers will still be believers in a new country. So, if the new government makes things harder for people of faith, consider it a blessing from GOD. The United States has sat on it's laurels as a bastion for Christendoms elite for too long and needs a wake up call. Open the borders on both sides. Control is not a bad thing, it is a necessity. I would of course like to maintain a representative republic such as we currently have here in the US. Aside from that, what's the big deal? Even if we live in a country that does not have one, will your faith be shaken to it's core? Be on the forefront and embrace change. Think of the opportunities that The Lord gives by increasing the field of service. trust God, not men.

Dear 44, NY, Hitler would have loved to have more people with your attitude. Certainly the world will become increasingly evil and the second coming of Christ is as certain as the first. However, throughout His interactions with man, God has obligated us to fight evil and injustice and care about the heritage we are leaving the next generations? No where does the Bible tell us to hasten the downfall of the Church to try to speed up the end times. Let's do our best to obey and leave the timing up to God. Is evil too strong a word? We've already been given clear warnings through poisoned pet food, toothpaste, and toys, not to mention the hoards of illegal invaders draining the welfare benefits that should go have gone to disabled and vulnerable citizens and driving drunk on American highways. What if our forefathers had accepted the Axis powers with the same degree of indifference to the welfare of future generations? What would your life be like now, under a Nazi dictator?

So you think we have a representative form of government; think again. Most elected officials spend most of their time deceiving the public so they can maintain their power. And, entrenched bureacrats have more control that most elected officials.

How can you be for a representative government and have no objection to these dealings which circumvent our representative legislators, our constitution which establishes our representative system, and relinquishes our sovereignty without even properly informing the public? An informed electorate is an essential factor for a sucessful representative government. Yes, we should be alarmed and we should alert as many of our fellow citizens as we can!

I do not have too much to comment except I agree 100% what one person said on the North American Union. The people here, especially the United States, should have been advised of this at the very beginning. Why was it not published in the press or TV? Someone in Washington needs to come forward with some answeres.

The main point of the rebutal is that my faith is in The Lord God and not in the government of the United States of America. Let man do what he wants, let satan rule in the hearts of men, let every man be a liar as God is Truth. God will get his way in the end.

Government cannot give us eternal salvation, but government is ordained of God to protect and bless the people by righteous rule. When that happens people will rejoice, but when the wicked rule people will mourn. All that is necessary for the latter to happen is for "good men" to do nothing.
So, I guess we could just sit on the truth and wait for God to "have his way in the end." We could just, as you said, let satan and his lies rule the hearts of men. Or we could take our God given responsibility, while we are waiting and have opportunity, to confront lies with truth, not only concerning eternal salvation, but also exposing and opposing unlawful,unfruitful, and unrighteous acts even in government. Who knows? Perhaps some will listen and whether or not they are blessed in this age, they can be rewarded for their stand for Truth in the next.

This is a very informative article. It is my understanding that the Trans-Texas Corridor building has already begun and has been going on for some time. Private land is being grabbed by the use of immenent domain. I would be interested to find out if this is true. Thank you.

I can not swear all of this is the truth but it does have me quite worried. I have been to meetings in Waco,Tx. and it does not look good for land owners, including myself. It is like a tidal wave coming slowly at us with no way to stop it.
Speakers at the meetings for the Corridor "white wash" with the good it will do and speakers against seem to be just "treading water" until the inevitable takes place. I am a Conservative and I have backed Bush along the way but this article and others I have seen, have given me some doubt about his maybe hidden agenda and that of his father. I will have to pray hard to
God for answers to this.
