Of Faith and Fantasies:
S.E.T.I is of the Religion of Evolution
-by Patrick J. Burwell
"…one of our noblest and most exciting scientific quests: to discover if we are alone and represent the high-water mark of intelligence and technology in the cosmos or, alternatively, if we're simply one member of a community of minded races, many of them perhaps vastly more ancient and advanced than ourselves."

Statement made by Jill Tarter concerning S.E.T.I.'s goals. Ms. Tarter is the Director of the Center for S.E.T.I. Research and made this comment on "Are We Alone?", the S.E.T.I Institute's weekly radio program on Wednesday May 17, 2006.
Is S.E.T.I.'s goal really to search for life, or, like others professing Evolution, do they use NASA and other government funded programs to try and disprove the existence of God?
A discovery of life other than our own would seem to them a disqualification of God that would annul all reasons for personal morality and accountability to their Creator. In other words, they could engage in the satanic philosophy of "do as you will" and feel no remorse, if they could but prove that there is no God.
If we found another life form "out there" it would only show the glory and wonder of God even more. No scripture I have seen disavows that possibility.
I agree with George Basalla (professor emeritus of history at the University of Delaware) that S.E.T.I is living in a fantasy world and has been for over 40 years. This illusion is a deception from which they refuse to come out, like the rebellious undisciplined child refuses to come out of his room, as he wants his way and only his way. "I don't need your God!" That seems to be their cry and they will kill themselves, their careers and their reputations to "prove" they are "right." They could be putting their abilities to use in the community! How many N.E.O.s (Near Earth Objects) could be "out there" ready to smack the earth? Don't listen for E.T.; don't waste valuable resources trying to be the next high priest of atheism! Look for planet killing asteroids! At least that's USEFUL!
Then we have Mr. David Darling, of Dundee, Scotland, in whose article, "Of Faith and Facts", is found Ms. Tarter's ridiculous statement. Mr. Darling also makes absurd comments himself with the same nonsensical arguments, like: "It isn't an unreasonable hypothesis that if intelligence has come about on one planet that it may also have arisen elsewhere, especially given the vast number of stars in this and other galaxies."
Romans 1:20-21 (WEB) For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse.
Because, knowing God, they didn't glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.
So, then, we come to the truth about S.E.T.I. They have tried for 40 years to find some small inkling of life on another planet (even willing to believe in microbes from Mars) just to justify not believing in God, so they don't have to believe what God says. Their "faith" is so blind they cannot even see what their own Science tells them is so:
Life is decaying NOT evolving.
It is empirically provable and irrefutable that all things left to themselves tend to disorder, not complexity. BASIC science class 101. All things break down (especially grammar)!
After 40 years, S.E.T.I, as all who have tried before, has failed miserably in their quest to justify themselves and their religion, Evolution, their goal being getting rid of the idea of God altogether, and their accountability to Him.
You will never hear and understand what God expects of you, how what He has done will rescue you, what you must do to be rescued, unless you listen through a humble and contrite heart. God's warning is clear:
Obadiah 1:4 (WEB) "Though you mount on high as the eagle, and though your nest is set among the stars, I will bring you down from there," says Yahweh.
