 When The god Called Money Falls

By Dr. David M. Berman                                                                      www.wakeupandsmellthetruth.com

Matthew 6:24 "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (money)."

The house of cards is falling. I have been warning of this for years. I have said many times that we cannot continue to manage our finances in this manner and not have it all come crashing down. The Word of God is clear concerning the topic of money. Jesus said "No man can serve two masters." The ques tion; "Who is our master?" is one that has been asked since the beginning in the garden. All of us must ask ourselves this question daily. Life in this world is a constant struggle with this question, and yet so quickly we answer the question wrong and our hearts are turned to other gods.

The god called money is a strong one. Many people will do many things in worship of it. Steal, and yes…kill, and destroy in order to have it. This is what God said of Satan;

John 10:10 "The thief (Devil) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

It matters not what tool Satan uses for his twisted purpose. He will use anything that he can to get people to worship anything or anyone other than the true living God; The Lord Jesus Christ. Many of the people of God have given themselves over to the idea that more things, and more comforts are the answer and thus have gotten themselves in crushing debt. The Bible warns us about being a slave to debt (Proverbs 22:7). The Bible warns us of many things and to our own destruction we disobey. What a trick so many so called "preachers" have perpetrated on so many Christians with the =E 2prosperity Gospel." Like moths to the fire many Christians are attracted to the notion that God's desire is that we all be rich. What a twisting of Scripture it is and a lure that reminds us of the snake in the garden.
At this point some of you may be thinking that I believe poverty is a spiritual virtue. If you think that you are wrong. You see I believe in the principle of sowing and reaping and yet I see great balance in the Scripture concerning this topic. The following verse explains the principle;

1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

There is a key in this verse that must be understood if we are to prosper properly. This verse starts with "The love of money is the root of all evil." The question; "Who is our master?" is answered with the answer to another question; "Who do we love?" The prosperity preachers have led many Christians to have money as their main focus. The decide who has faith based on it, it is totally out of balance. Our culture is deeply in love with money. We see it as our hope, strength, and power to bring happiness. The main concern=2 0of most people when they vote is their own financial benefit. The desire for personal finance often trumps any moral standard when voting for most people. Even many Christians are willing to put aside issues of life and traditional marriage in order to have their own pockets lined with someone else's money. Compromise of principle for the purpose of loving money is abundant in America, even in the Church. The truth is that without the principles of Scripture being applied to finance, it will all come tumbling down in the long run anyway. This is what history teaches us.

It's like the irresponsible person who gets a credit card. He charges a vacation, a new television, all new furniture, and goes around living the life of a rich man. For a while it's great without a care in the world. Then the payment is due and he does not have it. The problem is that he now wants to live that way continually and so he gets another card and pays the minimum of the first card with the money he borrows from the second. This is repeated until there are no more cards to get and he is in ruin. This is what our government and many individuals have done.

Greed; got to have a bigger house, bigger car, nicer vacation, and on and on has led to an America that has lost its way. It is estimated that less than two percent of people who call themsel ves Christians actually tithe. It is also estimated that about two percent of Christians are willing to share their faith in evangelism. Is it God's will that we are so focused on money for our own personal gain, while having little concern about supporting the work of God and the expansion of the gospel through evangelism?

Many Christians are rather zealous about their support for Obama because they think he will help them financially. This support is given even though he is in favor of abortion including partial birth abortion. Many Christians have told me they are supporting him because "we need change." We have killed about 50 million babies since Roe vs. Wade and since Obama wants to kill more, that is not change! Many Christians support Obama because he is promising more government handouts in his redistribution of wealth mind set. That's not change that is ungodly socialism rooted in a violation of the tenth commandment; "Thou shalt not covet." The truth is that neither Obama, McCain or any other politician will help the economy unless there is a total transformation back to the Biblical principles of our Constitution. The corruption is immense in our government and in our private sector as well because we have turned from these principles. The Constitution has become little more than a document twisted from its original intent for the furtherance of party political gain. The government simply has no re gard for the rule of Constitutional law. Examples:

By what Constitutional authority does the government have to bail our A.I.G.? None!
By what Constitutional authority does the government have to bail out foreign investors? None!
By what Constitutional authority does the government have to cook the books with accounting practices that are illegal for the private sector? None!
By what Constitutional authority does the federal government have to regulate education? None!
By what Constitutional authority does the Federal government have to regulate health care? None!
By what Constitutional authority does the federal government have to create entitlement programs that force the redistribution of wealth? None.
By what Constitutional authority does the federal government have to force all states to make abortion legal? None!

The government is out of control because we have lost our sense of right and wrong. The government is out of control because the nation has turned to relativism, socialism, and self ish ambition. We have turned from God's Word and thus we have what we have. God has always said that false gods would fail us. The false gods called money and greed have failed, and many people are in a panic. Due to this panic the government will continue to make things worse by bail out, and printing more money. This will further devalue the dollar and lead to inflation, possibly hyper inflation, with another great depression or worse. Obama and the Democrats are now calling for even more government to "fix: the nation's problems. Is that what we need? Does anyone realize that Fanny Mea is a government run company? Why would we want to give more of our tax money and more power to the government when they have proven over and over to be inept book cooking corrupt self serving criminals?

The government spends and spends and borrows and spends. The citizens spend and spend and borrow and spend. Warnings from the Word of God are not received as the people march in step with the false god. When people buy what they can't afford, they cry for someone to bail them out and demand others pay for their bad decisions, it is audacious. When I point this out I am told that I am insensitive. W hy is it insensitive to tell the truth? Is it somehow more compassionate to say nothing and just watch people do the same absurd things over and over to their own detriment? If I see someone walking off a cliff should I not warn them? Is it more "sensitive" to say nothing and let them fall off and die? If I see a person getting ready to steal from a store should I say nothing because the robber has bills to pay?

Here is the truth about money;

"The revelation of individual character is related implicitly to one's willingness to compromise principle for financial gain. There is no greater temptation than that of money. It is either that a man owns it or it owns the man."

– A quote from my previous writing

I have no problem with rich peop le or with money. In fact I would like to have more. I have no problem with people buying nice things, fancy cars, houses or anything else. I would like a nicer car myself. The question is not; "Is it wrong to prosper?" The real question is; Is it wrong to love money? The answer is yes. If you work hard, invest, sow and reap according to the Biblical principles plainly set before you, and make lots of money, good for you, buy what you want. If you realize that there is personal responsibility to be a giver (voluntary giver not mandated by government extortion) and responsible in how you handle your money that's great. But if you trust it, if you love it, if you compromise for it, if you hold onto it and care nothing for your fellow man and woman, it then is a false god to you.
I don't like the economic situation any more than anyone else does. I am not happy about the financial trial we are all going through but we have disobeyed the Bible in our country and have sown what we are reaping as a nation. We simply can't borrow and spend as we have and expect that all will be well. The False god of money has fallen and those who worship it are in a panic. Those who worship self, intellect, human wisdom, material things, position, and power are finding out just how false those gods are. Perhaps some will realize and turn to the true living God. I think some w ill and yet I fear most will not due to their obstinate refusal to admit that there can only be one master, and that master is the king of kings and Lord of Lords; Jesus the Christ. For all of us in America; Christian and non Christian, we will suffer due to ou r overall turn from God s Word as a nation to a worship of money, corruption, and power. Don't blame the politicians only, blame the people who refuse to hold their government accountable, and are irresponsible with their own personal finances.
