Finding The New Commies
Part II
It may have been a mistake to choose the title I did for part one of this article. I'm not sure it was seductive enough to get folks to read it. I added an alternative title on this part to reveal my true topic. Maybe people are more aware of modern communism than I think they are. I hope so, but regardless, we must come to understand the growing threat before us.
If we truly know what this threat is we will also know that Al Qaeda is not our main concern in the long run. The threat is a growing number of our own citizenry who have become Marxists, at least in their basic worldview. It is the enemy within the gates that poses the immediate threat.
In Part I, I shared some of the basic distinctions of American Marxists and how they are influencing our nation through the schools, the media, and government. History teaches us that it only takes a group of committed communists made up of about 10% of a nation's population to potentially turn that nation into a communist state.
In America we may never suffer a Russian-style revolution. We may forego most of the bloodshed, but a revolution is certainly in the works right now. The evidence is clear if you study it.
Will America ever become a hard dictatorship like we saw in the Soviet Union? Maybe not, but what is the difference if we are bound in the chains of ungodly, state-serving laws or at gunpoint? The results are the same.
The new Democratic Congress has revealed it's Marxist flavoring even further just since I wrote Part I of this article a few weeks ago. Senate Bill 1, Section 220 has been introduced. This bill, if passed, will effectively prevent Christian ministries and nonprofits from urging their respective supporters to contact Congress on critical issues like Senate Bill 1.
Under this bill, in order for organizations to alert their supporters about potential legislative dangers, they would have to become an approved lobbying organization. This would cost a lot of money and require time consuming red tape hoop-jumping too. Did someone lose the First Amendment somewhere? The bottom line is our elected officials don't want to hear from a lot of us, especially conservative Christians. The Christian community is, I guess in their minds, worldview flyover country.
This week, the Democrats have resurrected what was previously known as the "Hush Rush" bill. This is another attempt, as Sean Hannity and others predicted, to silence conservatives and Christians particularly because they dominate the radio airwaves. They dominate because people "choose" to listen to them. Imagine that!
This bill is supposedly based on the former "fairness doctrine." It basically says that one side of an issue cannot dominate the airways. "We have to have balance," is the plea from liberals who still think that their message isn't getting out. It's getting out all right. It is just that by choice most people don't want to hear it.
So, if conservative talk radio dominates the airwaves, which it does, then this has to be compensated by equal amounts of liberal talk radio according to proponents of the doctrine. It doesn't seem to matter that the majority of people don't want to hear liberal talk radio, but they must anyway. Let see? Liberal NPR can't support itself. It has to have government funds. Air America went bankrupt because not enough people want to listen and so on. But, we must be fair. We must listen anyway. I can't wait.
What is suspiciously missing in the arguments for reinstating the fairness doctrine is any supposed application to the print media or national networks. NBC, CBS, ABC, and NPR would not apparently be affected. And neither would the major liberal (one-sided) news organs like the New York Times, LA Times, Washington Post, etc, be affected. Why, because the left does not consider them biased. They are considered mainstream and balanced. This is exactly the answer Bernard Goldberg received from Dan Rather when asked. This was the beginning of the end of his career for raising the question in the first place. Liberals do not allow questions. Questions could expose the truth.
I hope this scares you. I hope you contact your Representative or Senator before they pass a law forbidding you to contact them. They are just getting too busy to listen to the "little people." I hope you will contact them about the fairness doctrine. And most important I hope you will watch them and call them to account and ask the questions. We need to keep asking the questions and exposing lies when we find them and standing for the truth regardless.
Thanks for listening. This is what I think. What about you?
