Friday, July 3rd, 2009 The Treachery of America's Fifth Columns NEW ARTICLE!

Increasingly, however, the specter of Communism – once thought of as alien to everything American – is looming on the horizon, fueled by Fifth Columns seeking to destroy our freedoms and enslave our citizens. It is a group of people, who by definition, secretly undermines a larger group, such as a nation, from within, to the aid and comfort of an external enemy.

"While John performed no sign, yet everything John said about this man [Christ] was true" (John 10:41).
Could anyone doubt that God was powerfully at work through the life of John the Baptist? Jesus said there was none like him (Matt. 11:11) and assigned him a strategic place of importance in the unfolding history of redemption. Like many great saints to follow, he did not do any miracles.

Friday, July 3rd, 2009 Can A Christian Righteously Rebel against Government? (Romans 13) NEW ARTICLE!
Rev. Dr. David M. Berman Th.D.

Let me start by saying that you must read this entire article to understand my position on this question. The following passage has been used by many to teach that Christians must submit to all government. In fact during the Katrina disaster many Pastors worked with FEMA in what they call "Clergy Response Teams." If Marshall law is declared, this team is to be used by government to keep the people from rebellion (Source K.S.L.A news). It is interesting how the government decries Christian involvement in public policy while at the same time they want to use pastors to facilitate tyranny. I would take time to write about these pastors who would cooperate with government tyranny but that is for another article.

Below is the text of a resolution submitted to the Southern Baptist Convention's Resolutions' Committee which met before the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention (S.B.C.) in Louisville, Kentucky, June 23-24, 2009. The committee chose not to pass the resolution entitled, "Freemasonry and Current Events," on to the convention where messengers could have had the opportunity to view and vote on the resolution. The committee killed it! Therefore, once again leaders of the SBC failed to encourage and warn its members to stay out of Freemasonry. (There are hundreds of thousands of masons in the SBC.)

In desperate messages to the outside world, Hondurans want America to know they do not want former President Manuel ¡°Mel¡± Zelaya returned to power through the intervention of the United States and the United Nations.

US troops pulled out of major Iraqi cities on Monday, handing over responsibility for security to the US-trained Iraqi forces. The withdrawal was celebrated by parades and fireworks, but many in the US and Iraq wonder whether the Iraqi forces are ready to fight the insurgency on their own. In the meanwhile, Afghanistan faces another deeply rooted problem; the opium trade.

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 Whatever happened to the fear of the Lord? by Patrick McIntyre
0

This last Sunday, I attended two churches in two towns. The Bible study in the morning was similar to the one in the evening in that the teachers didn't understand the fear of the Lord. The morning lesson included a discussion on why God had Joshua destroy all living things at Jericho (except Rahab's family), and the evening study was on Ephesians chapter five, part of which centered on why the American church is so much like the world. The morning teacher said she liked Jesus more than the God of the Old Testament, and the evening discussion ended with the Pastor's wife saying "If I feared God, I wouldn't come to Him". I struggled to find the scripture she was quoting, and finally realized she must have confused the Bible with Doctor Spock.

In addition to commemorating the homosexual riots at Stonewall, Obama issued a June 1 proclamation declaring June to be "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month."
President Obama on Monday celebrated the 1969 homosexual riots at a seedy Mafia-run bar known as the Stonewall Inn by repeatedly calling them "protests." Only once, during his speech to the homosexuals and their supporters assembled in the White House East Room, did he refer to them accurately as the riots they were. Several police officers trying to enforce the law at the sleazy establishment were injured by violent homosexuals.

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 Purpose-Driven Connection: Michael Jackson Loved Jesus with All His Heart?
Ingrid Schlueter

David Pack, member of Saddleback Church, has written the following on the Purpose Driven Connection:
"I know Michael loved Jesus with all his heart. Quincy had told me about his work sharing his faith with others."
Pack "knows" this for sure and claims Michael is now moonwalking on the heavenly streets paved with gold. Pack even goes so far as to suggest that Jackson was considering giving up music for a full-time Christian ministry. So the three motherless children, conceived for his own selfish pleasure, the hundreds of millions of dollars in debt because of his foolish and greedy spending, the open admission of his proclivity for sleeping in bed with young boys, the ego, the bodily mutilation, the homosexual sex that was just written about as recently as his stay in Las Vegas, the prescription drug use, all of this must be the fruit of Michael's Christian faith, eh, Mr. Pack?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 Bible Skeptics Take Note: Babylon Is Being Rebuilt, Just as Prophesied
Joel Rosenberg

Regular readers of my weblog and books know that Bible prophecy says the ancient city of Babylon, Iraq will be rebuilt and become the greatest center of wealth, commerce and power in the "last days" of history. The books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Revelation are explicit on this subject. Skeptics and cynics abound, to be sure, but the fact is Babylon is being rebuilt right now, in part with U.S. taxpayer funds. Iraqi leaders hope that eventually millions of tourists will come to visit, and real progress is being made. Consider today's edition of Stars & Stripes, a U.S. military publication. They have a fascinating story this morning headlined: "U.S., Iraqi experts developing plan to preserve Babylon, build local tourism industry."

From "reality show" stars like Jon and Kate, to politicians, to the folks next door - what we thought were the most solid of marriages are falling apart.
Viewers tuned in to TLC's "Jon and Kate Plus 8" because it gave them hope that it's still possible to have a big, happy family led by a mom and dad who overcome all odds due to their undying commitment to each other. (Now that Jon and Kate are getting divorced, you would think that they, or TLC, or show executives would pull the plug on the program so the children can at least suffer in privacy. But, alas, it seems that everyone is willing to cash-in on exploiting the little lives and hearts as their emotions unfold before a national audience. This is the most disgusting abuse of television we've ever seen. Our own family refuses to sit and gawk as this real-life family emplodes - I hope you will ban the show in your own home too.) Others supported political leaders who we thought would fight to uphold timeless values, including the institution of marriage. Many of us are now feeling a bit sick to our stomachs at revelations of infidelity – and are beginning to wonder if there's any real hope left for this sacrament called marriage.

Doctrine is under attack. You initial response might be, "Of course it is, heretics have been challenging the foundations of the church since its inception!" But there is a powerful difference regarding the challenges of today: not only are particular doctrines under attack (e.g. the Trinity, the incarnation, Hell, the inerrancy of Scriptures), but the idea of doctrine itself is increasingly being considered antiquated, irrelevant, and downright divisive. And these challenges are not only from outside the church, but from inside as well.

When I was a liberal I loved mocking the Bible. I'd get giddy arguing with conservatives over Bible stories that to me were ludicrous. One example is the biblical account of Moses parting the Red Sea to help the Israelites escape Pharaoh's pursuing army. Boy did I scoff at that one! I categorized Christians who bought into the miraculous signs and wonders in the Bible as "unenlightened twits."

For all practical purposes, the Democratic Party in the United States has become the Democratic Socialist Party of the United States. With Barack H. He urged "a planetary civilization" that is "more respectful of Mother Earth, more inclusive of all people and with more solidarity with the poorest, which is more spiritual and full of reverence for the splendor of the universe and which is much happier."

These measures would set a limit, or cap, on carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel use. The effect of such a cap would be to impose rationing of coal, oil, and natural gas on the American economy. Each covered utility, oil company, and manufacturing facility would be given allowances based on past emissions or some other formula. Those companies that emit less carbon dioxide than permitted by their allowances could sell the excess to those that do not; this is the trade part of cap and trade. Over time, the cap would be ratcheted down, requiring greater cuts in emissions.

The Obama Administration has resurrected the debate over the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and is pushing for the United States to finally join the treaty. Yet, while ratifying the treaty sounds like a great effort to protect children, it would instead offer the UN inroads to dictate to American parents how best to raise their kids. According to the US Constitution, treaties are binding laws that must be followed by judges, even if those treaties conflict with the laws of the individual states.
