Evangelical Left Fawns Over Obama's Nobel
0

The increasingly left-leaning National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) has eagerly embraced President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize as somehow validating the NAE's own impending call for nuclear disarmament. Ironically, the NAE is moving almost in tandem with its former nemesis, the old Religious Left's National Council of Churches (NCC), which is preparing its own ant-nuke statement for release later this month. Over 60 years ago the NAE was founded as a more conservative alternative to the NCC.

No sooner had we celebrated the exit of Barack Obama's Green Jobs Czar, Van Jones, because of his Communist connections, another off-the-wall Administration embarrassment surfaced. President Obama nominated for commissioner of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) a woman who signed a radical manifesto endorsing polygamy.

Sometimes classified as "a worthless historian," Dan Brown is nevertheless an uncanny observer of the spiritual times in which we live. His basic message is consistent: our culture is discovering that the "Ancient Mysteries" will be victorious over the outdated, censorious and power-grabbing Church. The Da Vinci Code undermined the faith of nominal believers by:

The Future Has Arrived!

I am constantly running across articles by Dispensationalists in which the argument is presented that in order to be a "consistent futurist," you cannot contend that prophecies are being fulfilled today. Instead, it is argued that all end time prophecy relates to Israel in the Tribulation and Millennium. Therefore, all we are seeing today is "stage setting," but not the fulfillment of prophecy.

We are living in unusual times. Christians, once the life-blood of America, are banished to the margins, denied the right to speak and sometimes accused of "hate crimes." How should we respond? First, we must reaffirm our life-long determination to follow Jesus and his Word, whatever the consequences. In addition, we must recognize what is happening around us in order to speak truth with clarity and calm understanding.

Recent news stories have focused on the tremendous advances women have made in society. The PTC study, "Women in Peril: A Look at TV's Disturbing New Storyline Trend" reads, in part:

A friend of mine slept through a robbery in his own home.
His wife wasn't so comatose. In fact, when the man entered their bedroom, she immediately began chasing him down the hall. With this lady on his tail he didn't steal much but trouble. Meanwhile, back in the sack, my friend snored away, totally oblivious to the whole ordeal. The day of the Lord will also come like a thief in the night. Are you ready?

We don't know what the plan is though there are hints that Israel agreed to stop all construction on the West Bank once the 3,000 apartment units now being constructed were completed and that this freeze would not apply to construction in east Jerusalem. This is indeed a major concession on Netanyahu's part and once again puts the lie to the claim that he is inflexible or hard line (though no doubt we will still daily see this in media coverage).

A Very Good Question
Ray Comfort
0

Most Christians believe that God allowed the Fall because He didn't want to make us as "robots." He therefore gave us a free will, and that entailed the freedom to choose right and wrong. That explanation has never satisfied me. This is because it is (hopefully) evident that in Heaven, God isn't going to give the vast sea of redeemed humanity the ability to sin. That didn't work with just one couple, so it's not going to work with innumerable multitudes. So we will clearly live in a state where we aren't robots but we won't have the capability to sin. That makes sense. The question then arises as to why God didn't do that with Adam and Eve. Why did He create them with the freedom of choice, and therefore allow them to bring all this misery, death and an impending Hell upon the entire human race.

How to save America
Henry Lamb

The United States is on the brink of signing a new climate change treaty that many people believe will be the mechanism that ushers in global governance. Global governance has been under construction for many years. Every new treaty in which the United States participates requires the surrender of a little more sovereignty. International treaties have influenced domestic policy throughout the 20th century, forcing the federal government to impose restrictions on individual freedom which are not authorized in the enumerated powers set forth in the U.S. Constitution

A friend of mine who used to be a high-ranking U.S. government official made a very interesting remark: Intelligence does not settle disputes in government, theories do. On the occasion of its 13th anniversary and dramatic success in the television ratings, Fox News is coming under serious scrutiny. But there is no reason why this scrutiny should come exclusively from those on the left who are jealous of the cable channel's success. Conservatives should not hesitate to offer their own critique of the popular news network.
